House is still freezing... this appears to be because although I switched the heating on, I forgot to turn on the two main radiators :o . So the thermostat isn't even shutting off if I turn it down to 10 degrees  Think I'd better turn all the radiators up to full until I go to bed (and I'll definitely need several hot water bottles!).

House appears to be a tip... kitchen was clean & tidy when I arrived, and it isn't now... and the hall is full of boxes/bags that I haven't get unpacked... that should keep me busy this week...

Apparently I have to watch It's a Wonderful Life tonight.. I've never seen it... and I'd much rather go to bed with my book or watch Batman but hubby says I have to watch this...

Oh.. I ordered a new TD.. it is not a condenser and it is a 8kg load and it comes with a 5 year warranty and I got 10% off.. I can fling my old one that I hate now.. and when I've paid for this one I'm replacing my other condenser one too! I just decided!!

justamum - what age is DD2 as i got some of the big Hama beads for my DD when she was 2 and she lost interest very quickly as they were so big (and she also knew that they werent the real thing, she much preferred the smaller ones just meant I had to do them with her but she was quite happy with a saucer with some in and she didnt bother about putting them in colour order.

    newbies- welcome:hello:

pigpen - I am in again this week although not sure how much will get done but will aim for at least level 2 and yes toots I will be concentrating on the ironing.

Toots - please explain just WHY you are ironing duvet sets? Just get a throw to put on top of the bed - no-one will notice they're not ironed!

Frodders and Toots - my iron mountain - the only real problem I have is that I need to sort out the wardrobe and chest of drawers before I can put it all away! Other than that, I will be ironing as though my life depended on it over the next couple of days. Tell you what, if I photographed my iron mountain and you both photographed yours, maybe we could have a competition and prove whose was the biggest! (Bet it's mine!)

JayJay - thanks for the sausage link - I've been browsing that site. If you have some sausage recipes, please PM me them!

Welcome Diza, SuzieQ, Jacci45, Beemuzed, Qotd, Kazzaw

Toots - I see you've quite rapidly dropped the word 'slightly' from your welcome speech!

Awwww Pigpen - It's a Wonderful Life - one of my most fave films EVER. Always has me crying at the end... if I was much closer, I'd be knocking on your door asking if I could come watch too...

I need to go do some washing up. DD was round this evening again and after we had dinner, we ended up, four of us, trying to play Scrabble. I say trying because 2 of us were seasoned experts and 2 had never played the game before! It was quite interesting. But, I still won :D

Well done on the TD pigpen. I was going to get a small condenser TD when I moved here (9 years ago... blimey, I've just realised how old all my white goods are, although my oven is 25 years old so they've got some mileage left in them!), and my mum insisted that I get a full size external venting one as I had space for it and a window in the utility room. She was right (again  ). It wasn't worth skimping on, as compared to the WM, the cost was low (it's just running it that costs an arm & a leg, but the idea of dealing with your brood without one is VERY scary!).

Toots - enjoy your free day... maybe you can start on some of the pampering you're planning?

Those of you with ironing mountains (OK, so I'm feeling smug because I finished mine before Christmas) ... maybe you can save some money by discovering a whole new wardrobe you'd forgotten about? I certainly have a lot more choice now mine has been put back into circulation...
