  • Hi All :D
    I'm back too this week....:D
Followed it all up to Christmas and was a great help.
Today I have gutted my kitchen and cleaned all the cupboards out and moved all the food around...which will fox DD's when they bring the GC round and go and look for biscuits!! :rotfl:
We had a lovely, but busy, Christmas....bet you all did too.
Cooked for 18 on Christmas Day and 30 on Boxing Day....and then most of the next day, I was dropping asleep all over the place....good job I wasn't planning on going to the sales!
The house is reasonably tidy at the mo...but must keep on top of it all...and I want to do menu plans for 2009 and be as frugal (tight!) as possible....so might do a bit of that tomorrow.
    Take care
    xx

Just to clarify, that's dribbling from my mouth, not an incontinence problem people :D

I'm in... although I'm back at work tomorrow, so it'll be a struggle.

... sounds like you all had a great Christmas (or at least survived it intact ;) ). It took me a while to catch up on the thread

Welcome back Toots & Flower... welcome to the newbies... hugs to the poorlies... (and thanks for the card Toots!)

I had a great time - went straight to my parents from Leeds (its remarkably easy to get to north norfolk from Leeds... possibly easier than from any other direction. All this travelling is improving my geography no end :o ) and worked from there Tues/Wed.

My brother & his fiancee arrived late on Christmas Eve. We did stockings (no children in the household, but its a useful way of getting all those little bits every year - knickers, socks, dishcloths, tea towels...), then breakfast, then church (it's 9.30, so no lie-in), then presents (VERY emotional, both my brother's fiancee and my mother had presents that made them cry, which had ALL of us in tears by the end of it!), then lunch, then a walk, then dinner just after 6 (my dad peeled the veggies the day before, my mum did the turkey & veggies, my brother did the potatoes & parsnips, his fiancee bought the pudding so all I had to do was make the brandy butter... and I don't eat Christmas pudding). The scrabble...

My brother & fiancee left early on boxing day to see her family, and we had an elderly friend over for lunch (I went to hers to swim, picked her up, took her back, went for another swim :D ), and watched Mamma Mia (which my mum was given for Christmas). Saturday... went for another swim... went to family part in the evening and caught up with my many cousins... Then today, went for a walk, packed, drove home, then emptied the car into the house...

... so will be slowly unpacking all week... had lovely pressies... new mattress topper, new hifi for my study (this is a christmas & birthday present from my brother), wine, merion jumper, REN bodywash, doorstop for sitting room, Jo Malone bath oil...

... and I happen to know I'm getting a slow cooker for my birthday :D so I'm feeling very lucky!

Back to work tomorrow... in the office Monday and Friday, otherwise working from home. My parents are coming down next Sunday and staying until Tuesday (it's my birthday), so I expect my brother will be over Sunday or Monday... have to be unpacked & organised by then. I expect New Year's day will be my busy day!

I think I should join you! I've got a busy work life & lots of hobbies etc. and the house is VERY untidy!! I've decided one of my hobbies should be decluttering!!

Whenever I try to tackle it I do too much at once and it looks worse than when I started! And then I usually have to hide everything in a hurry as I have an evening meeting at work or a visitor turns up!

Any tips on how to make a constructive start would be welcome.

    I'll be in - I love tomorrow's list, I've done three-quarters of it today ;)

Bath, book and bed now, see you all tomorrow.
