alwayshappy - you've done fabulously well!!:j Especially cleaning the oven, as I will do almost anything to avoid actually doing that....It is never too late to become what you were always intended to be0

lil_me - Where did you buy it? It must surely still be under warranty? In most cases the store has to sort it out if it's within guarantee. It is never too late to become what you were always intended to be0

lil_me - unfortuately this isn't unusual with HP and warranties... I've had to deal with them for work on numerous occasions, and they don't like paying out. If you know anyone who can do a diagnosis for you, then get them to have a look at it - and also read the very small print on the warranty. Chances are, if its rattling, they'll claim its user damage. Might be worth a post on the techie board to see if someone knows more about how their retail customer service works!0

Evening,
thought it was time I came back to post!
Have been on a downer since NYE and did nothing but spend yesterday on the computer wasting time away. Loved reading all your posts about the best bits etc and that got me down when I realised that actually I spend more time with you guys than I do my so called friends and that I cant recall anything outstanding from the last year! My "best" friend of 20 years didnt even bother replying to the message I sent her on Christmas day ( and still hasnt) and my other "best" friend still hasnt replied to the letter I sent with her birthday card 18 months ago (she moved away) but did send a brief message with flying flowers a few days before Christmas
. Just seems to be that female friends dont work out and male friends always end up wanting more  .
Anyway I kicked my butt this morning and went off to do some food shopping, why I dont know as I have had to rearrange all the food cupboards and the fridge to get it all in, so they have all been cleaned in the process. Then made pizza dough and we have all stuffed pizza for tea except me who had pizza toppings on a piece of cardboard (well thats what my gluten free base felt and tasted like!)
Have promised DD half hour on the Wii at 8 o clock and then I will still need some more butt kicking as I need to check the freezers to see what I actually have and rearrange the stuff I threw in the milk and bread one just stop it thawing out earlier. Oh also need to check contents of fruit and veg one as discovered it was turned off yesterday (I'm hoping no puddles was a sign it hadnt been off long.
Too much to remember from the last 2 days except Hugs for your dear Nan Dusty hope all is ok, and Mudbath if you get rid of the aerial on the roof and any satellite dish you can keep your TV (my brother has it on TV licensing records now that he has no aerial and cannot receive a signal)
Love n hugs to everyone else
Kaz xMortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!0 -
Tilli-tot and Toots Thanks for the encouragement - my house can't wait to be attacked on Monday will try to give updates on success. What a nice forum I have joined - a VERY friendly bunch
Enjoy the w/e0 -
Thank you toots! It is exciting - the present carpet is 20 years old, and getting threadbare and torn. The replacement will hopefully be a cleaner cream rather than a brownish cream, but will not really look very different. I'm also making new curtains. Pictures in due course! What have you been up to today? It is never too late to become what you were always intended to be0

serena it came from 3 with a BB contract, mailed directly from HP as they didn't have them in store, going to call them tomorrow and see if they are more helpful. greenbee it's not rattling as in if you shake it, it's when it starts, it sounds like an old modem going, you know the clicking and whirring sounds? I've had a laptop with a goosed HD which has done the same thing. Made me so angry as was on the phone etc for ages and none of the saynoto0870 numbers worked. It's actually the business end I have to deal with as it's a mininote.
serena I agree with the everything in it's place, I too am still trying to achieve all of that myself but know once it's done, it works much better
kaz honey I am similar with 'friends', I tend to be contacted when I am needed rather than for an evening out (can't remember when the last one was but has been several years) a coffee or a chat. Male ones, agreed, some can be a little 'risky'. I have joked with someone that at present if facebook was a pools coupon I would win! All these x's turning up :rotfl:
DS2s settled a bit, DS1s gone to his room, going to chase DS2 to bed in a mo. Didn't do the decoration removal as planned today but might get some done this evening, need the tree out tomorrow really (before DS1s birthday on Sunday)One day I might be more organised...........

Slinkies target 2018 - another 70lb off (half way to what the NHS says) so far 25lb0 -
lil_me - sounds like a mechanical fault with the disk spinning, but I'm a bit out of date on these things. Stick a query on the techie board and someone will come along who knows what the problem is, how to fix it, and how HP will attempt to wriggle out of fixing it under the warranty...
I'm so tired... am I allowed to go to bed nowI know I wanted to start getting to bed earlier, but possibly not this early. I'm frequently not back from work at this time! I suppose if it means I'll wake up early, then it's fine, but if I don't, there is no way I'll get everything done on time.
My parents are arriving in time for lunch on Sunday, so I'm now trying to find out whether my brother & his fiancee will be coming too so I know how many people I have to feed. I thought briefly about doing a roast, and then realised that the oven is currently clean, and I plan on it staying that way... so it'll be a casserole0
