I'm off to bed - plenty to do tomorrow before we go out for DD's birthday. Plan is we're leaving home about 11.30 picking up a couple of her friends, going to Taybarns for lunch where some other people will meet us and then back to ours where we'll have the cake and play a couple of games b4 I take them home.

In the morning I need to:

Go to Asda and get birthday cake and washing up liquid!
    Do pass the parcel
    Hoover round.

    Morning all.

Working on my own little list today. Didn't get anything done yesterday except have a nap in the morning, and have another nap in the afternoon! I felt so lethargic - don't know what the matter was with me. Feeling a bit more up to it today, hopefully it lasts LOL

  • Good evening Flygang,

Had a lovely but chilly day out watching the London New Years Day parade. Lots of fantastic marching bands but many of the American participants looked frozen but still smiling! Interesting chat with some US parents, and DS behaved reasonably well or as well as he can when it requires standing stillish for 3 hours.

Had great fun walking through Mayfair & Piccadilly looking at xmas decs in the posh shops - Aspreys and Ralph Lauren were amazing, so much so we went back later for a second look!

Now just about thawed out, nibbles eaten, and a dance film watched with a Baileys in hand - a fabby day.

Back to the lists in earnest tomorrow....I promise PP.

    Moam
Although no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.... life is a WIP.

Snowball says too far away, working hard to bring it forward.

Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough.
And things go wrong no matter what I do.
Now and then it seems that life is just too much.
But you've got the love I need to see me through.

Hmmmm - interesting. The Geraldine McEwan MM Nemesis seems to be a completely different plot to the Joan Hickson one! I have a fancy the Joan Hickson one may be closest to the original. I read the original years ago but can't remember it! I shall have to find a copy...

Before I go.. Thursdays job it to post 5 of the best things that happened in 2008 and the one remarkable thing that changed you as a person.. and the one thing you remember most from the thread..

    Best happenings..
    1. I went back to university (even if it is OU) and I'm studying computers/business & I'm taking the first steps towards the career I've wanted since I was 10 :D
    2. I started a course which means in less than 10 weeks I'll have completed an NVQ so I can be employed :j
    3. Ex-OH left me, and I survived. :D
    4. I found out that an ex-boyf hasn't changed in 10-years and is still only after one thing :mad::rolleyes: SO I'm not going back there AGAIN...unless I want to this time ;):rotfl::rotfl: which has also taught me that some males never grow up no matter how much responsibility they have
    5. My niece was born :D
    Remember most from this thread
    1. "That I have people who care about me and about each other, all over the world and that should I turn up on their doorstep they would (once they realised who I was) welcome me. That is pretty special." - couldn't have put it better myself :T:T:T
    Remarkable thing that changed me
    1. Ex moved out, I thought I would fall apart without him and I haven't. :D
    2. I'm more confident through my TA training course
    3. I've found me again and when I need to I now kick a$$;):D:T:T
Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.
Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!
