Cazzie, Jennybee and Mairead - welcome (to the madhouse!!)

    julejim - I'd use Stardrops

Dusty - Me! I'm going to watch it - after I watch the Krypton Factor (I used to love that when it was on before!)

greenbee - 2 favours to ask please! Can I pinch your list for some ideas to sort out my [STRIKE]hovel [/STRIKE]house? I'm on my own too so there's really no excuse :o And can I ask your advice about my gas and electric? Thank you loads :D

I really am trying to write my list for today as instructed by pigpen - I WILL think of good things, I WILL think of good things, I WILL think of good things ...............

oooooooooooooooooooooh jennybee I have just read your signature - dont you be going mad now - you are not allowed to have a baby when I am on here - I couldnt cope with the stress!!!!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: You have left it a little late to be getting organised havent you:rotfl: just be careful and rest as well!
    toots xx

:rotfl: I'm never on time for anything so this thing won't be coming out til the end of the month, I'm sure of it!! Believe me, I am not one for going mad with the housework! Most of it that needs to be done is filing paperwork which is a nice quiet sitting down job! I promise that I will not:

    (a) Lift anything heavy
    (b) Bend up and down too much
    (c) Stand on any chairs/ladders to reach a top shelf

    :rotfl:

And yes...I have left it a little late, but there's always been something more interesting to do other than the housework! And now I've finished work and am officially on maternity leave from Monday I thought I better make myself useful!

Plus, once I've had the baby, the community midwife person comes round to see you and I don't want to make her wait outside in the cold whilst I move a pile of paperwork off a chair!!!!

Another one looking forward to Jonathan Creek. In fact I'm planning to put the answer machine on in case anyone phones.

Thanks Flylady_Flower - I suspect our 'puters have a lot of things we never think to use.

Do you think anyone would notice if I didn't go back until Tuesday? :rotfl:

greenbee, if there are still B&Q vouchers spare I would love one please :)

Well we got the car to start, by pumping the throttle, seems one of the thermostats is googaaa'd so that means the choke isn't coming on. Will have to price those up tomorrow, choice of 2 we think might not be working.

Chicken dinner enjoyed by all :D piles of chicken left, weighed 6lb 12oz so was quite a big chicken! Pot bubbling with odds and sods for stock, will freeze left overs for another dinner or a curry, maybe both if I am careful and DS1 stops eating chicken as he walks past.

I actually tidied most of the kitchen when I was in there, so just DW to empty and refill now :D it's a miracle!
One day I might be more organised...........

Well my legs are both hurting now.. instead of just one.. I have to give in and succumb to the lure of ibuprofen, I have ignored it for 2 days and just can't any more it is making me as miserable as sin and stroppy to go with it.

Piggers - sending you hot water bottles and warming quilts
Dusty - :cool:ORF:cool: - I'd forgotten about that - it was a giggle! - and Mudder's squirrel costume was superb! :rotfl:
    Vanilla - hugs
Boddy - glad your Mum knew what day it was.
    Welcome Cazzie, Mairead and Jennybee
Summer - what I did when my dog was young was put a child's stairgate on the entrance to the utility area (it has only a curtain, not a door) and I would put her in there when we went out. Is there a 'safe room' you can put her in when you go out?

Thanks for the heads up about Jonathan Creek and Miss Marple - I've seen the Joan Hickson version of Nemesis, but not the Geraldine McEwan. Now I'm in turmoil - which one do I watch? I love them both. I don't have a video set up on my TV. Does anyone know if they're repeated tomorrow anywhere?

I've done nothing all day - except make a sausage sandwich :D Am now about to forage for dinner. Think I'll do salmon and rice.

Help yourself to the list - I'm glad someone sees the point of it :p . The problem with living on your own is that the mess is all your own, so in theory it shouldn't get into that state... and there isn't anyone else to blame either!

And feel free to ask about gas & electric (either PM or yahoo email)... first piece of advice, if you haven't already done it, is to find your meters and start reading them regularly so you know what you're using as well as what you're paying!

Of course you can... but you'll have to resend me your address as I've realised I cleared out my mailbox the other day without writing it down :o

Oven cleaned & shelves back in, washing up done, kitchen surfaces cleaned. Still can't decide what to eat...
