julie - as I live on my own I'm mystified as to why there is so much to do in the first place. There's only one person making the mess
  • Afternoon Lovelies :hello:

DH woke me up with a lovely coffee - just the way I like it, double shot latte - at 11.40. Can't be bad! :D

My throat feels better today, but I've been coughing all bloomin night!! BAH!

Quite right Greenbee, parrots and sleep were purely for my throat/cough, nothing whatsoever to do with a hangover!!!! :rotfl:

Anyway, DH is taking DD2 and DD3 out to walk the pooch now, and I'm going to pull myself together... ie shower and dressed.... hmmmm, may even put some slap on. (maybe)

DH bought some buffet type food for today. So I'll get on with that I s'pose. I really want turkey though, I never get enough at Christmas!

    Sainsburys are open then Pink?

Ok here's my list - its never easy for me to put into words what I really feel/mean deep down inside -

5 best things (in no particular order)
    1. Having a whole year without chemotherapy
    2. Finding this site and especially this thread
    3. Having all the people on this thread as friends
    4. Doing my ECDL - for me!
    5. Finishing all my ironing!
    Remember most from this thread...
the love, support and friendship you have given me - and making the lovely list of 'good things about toots' -seeing in me what I cant recognise in myself ...yet! I will treasure that for ever!
Despite all your own ups and downs you still have time for me, that you have never met, and that is something that I will always cherish.

    Remarkable thing that changed me.

being a part of such a strong and loving community has made me see that I can change and will get stronger to meet my challenges ahead -seeing how you all deal with your own problems and what life throws at you I think has made me a better person! I maybe dont love or believe in myself yet but I am getting there!
I am truly looking forward to having a whole year with you all and having you in my life!

A very Happy New Year to you and yours - may you all be blessed with good health, wealth and especialy happiness!

    toots xx

Happy New Year and your lists have made me cry already and it's still the 1st January!!!

    Best happenings
    1. Breaking my wrist and every client coming back to me after my three months off work made me realise I could do my job well and how much I love it.
    2. Getting on top of flying, decluttering and finances thanks to this thread.
    3. Realising how many friends I have and how they've been there for me this year. I have to add a huge thankyou to my DH for looking after me so well over christmas.
    4. Having the hysterectomy ... why didn't I have it years ago!!! I feel fab!!!
    5. Having a husband who makes it possible for me to work part time so I can spend time with our children (though at times I could still happily marmalise them - I am human!!!).

    Most remembered from this thread
Everyone's fantastic support through my wrist and now my op. When i've been down you've lifted me and kept me going and you will never know just how much you've all got me through this year. Thankyou from the bottom of my heart.

    Thing that's changed me
Volunteering as a holistic therapist at the hospice. I get so much from doing the most simple of treatments for people there. I learnt so much from patients and it's made me re-assess my life and what's important.

Oooh I have another best thing - getting potty, spotty, dotty, grotty (at times) puppy dog!!! I had to add that despite her stealing two bananas and a bread roll this morning xx

Well done Toots and soappie! There are some great achievements going on today...

... which reminds me... now I've watched Wallace & Gromit on iplayer... I'd better put another layer of linseed oil on the worktop in the utility room...

How's the Utility going Greenbee? I seem to have missed out on the progress so far, but sounding good if you're oiling the worktops...

( No babe, I don't, that sounds great though!!! I just used the snowball calculator, not a spreadsheet :o )

I think that is what I used before, but thought it was on a spreadsheet? I know it worked it all out, put down every payment, etc, snowballing each one in turn... Is that what you used? If so, could you let me know the link. Thanks
ETA: Thanks for the other link, I use the budget planner all the time, I love that spreadsheet but glad I read that as the password for it is on there, so I can make some changes now to suit me better... very handy... but no mention of the snowball calculator...

I'm pretty certain they'll come in comparable if not less than, say, Richmond sausages. I'll work out the costings tomorrow. But I'm now exhausted! The second lot of sausages took seconds to prep than ages to skin! I couldn't work out what was wrong. In the end, I think it's science - because I hadn't cleared the nozzle bit after the first lot, some sort of vacuum must have been created and the second mixture just wouldn't go through. Took me flipping ages to work out why!

But the second lot is done and I'm now about to cook the first. I think we're having a late dinner! :rotfl:I will do them with mash and, just for you fly_f, onion gravy. But, you'd better get here in the next 20 minutes!

They looked wonderful Soappie, and at least you know for future reference now how to make them go faster - I'm very tempting to get the attachments myself now. I know they're not as cheap as cheapy sausages, but I bet they taste wonderful, and you can have whatever you like in them and as you say, probably better value than richmond sausages...
Sorry I didn't make it round - was very upset to have missed out - will have to satisfy myself with cooking my own tonight (and the onion gravy of course!) :rotfl: :rotfl:

  • Am trying to catch up, but have set myself a time limit, as I really need to get on.

Am about to do the Lounge today - going to have a change around!!!

Don't know how it will work but it is really annoying me as it is, everything is around the edges of the walls, like a doctors waiting room, and I want to make it more cosy and chat friendly - wish me luck!
