  • I won't be doing a budget as such as OH does the main shopping and I just get bits I want for recipes etc. But I will be lurking and learning.

He texts every day from work "what shopping do we need?" - will be keeping him to the milk, bread and veg stuff and even have plans where bread is concerned.

In short, I don't know what my man normally spends on our groceries in a month but I plan to cut it down by being frugal.

    Morning everyone,

i`m back to do the GC after several missing months. The shopping bill has crept up but i`m pleased to report that it`s not even been close to what i used to spend before doing my first few GC`s.

We have a fullish freezer and cupboards and i shall make sure that we use up all the little extras bought before Christmas so no doubt we will end up eating some strange concoctions at some stage :rotfl:

There are just myself, DH, 2 doggies with big appetites and the little black cat whose appetite varies greatly. The shopping includes absolutely everything, our food, animal food, toiletries etc.

We are going to try from today right through until the end of January which will be five weeks and i shall set our target at £120 please Mrs M.
I was going to do £100 but i am almost out of dog food and need to buy a sack today so it made the budget unrealistic to start with, also Mr Sunny things it`s £100 so it will make him think twice about supermarket shopping too :D

I was going to buy milk only this week but we have a large box of dried and some uht for yogurt making so i shall use that instead. I think that Dad needs to go to the shops today too  i can feel the first test coming on, maybe i shall sit outside in the car and wait for him there to avoid temptation.

    Good luck guys & gals.

Planning on starting the GC again soon :p

Hi. Could you put me down for £140 for January please? I am going to try my hardest this time, having failed miserably in December.

Hi all. I'm back for the new year. Please put me down for £250 for January. I probably wont be able to keep to it as my freezers nearly empty and needs restocking.

  • Please could you put me down for 150 for January, for 1 adult and 3 kids. Have 2 full freezers and overflowing pantry. I spent 12.01 yesterday in tesco and 59p in wilkinsons on shampoo, but shouldnt need to go out again until friday. Hoping to get a head start on 4k challenge by having a really lean month, then saving surplus for a contingency later in the year. have plenty of meat and staples so perfectly acheivable (honest)
