ghd straightners

Hi, was wondering if anyone could tell me of any sales offers on ghds for my daughter. Had a look on internet but not any bargains to be had where I looked:p . Any info would really be appreciated. Many thanks in advance.

Hi, I think GHD's remain around the same price all the time.

You can get deals in hair dressers where they might throw in a product but the websites I know that stock them are ASOS and Boots.

I dont think you get massive reductions on GHDs, you may get a deal on limited edition ones with free things with them or at a hairdressers where they may throw in freebie products but other than that i dont think there is any offers

My mum is 60 and would like a pair of hair straighteners after getting her hair straightened at the hair dressers! Would you suggest GHDs? Any suggests/tips on how she can learn to use them if I buy them for her?

Most GHDs (if not all) come with an instruction dvd inside the box so you can learn different techniques.

I keep hearing about these GHD straighteners............whats so special about them, that makes them so expensive??

I'm a bloke so i probably wont get it!

They heat up really quickly and give the best finish. I imagine they have some 'special' technology that makes them better (and more expensive) than the others!

Personally? I am not exactly sure what the difference is either- but there is a difference! I have used straighteners from Babilys, Whal, Remmington and GHDs. (Friends homes, relatives bathrooms and well meant gifts). My mothers GHD's win hands down every time. And her hair is not as knackered as mine- I am using a Whal at the moment until I can afford some GHDs with my boots points (£10 to go!).

I have a theory that they heat up very quickly and don't allow themselves to over heat or for the temperature to drop then suddenly rise again and so cause the hair to become drier and more damaged. I also think they are lighter to use (Babilys for example are I find, really quite chunky and heavy).

And then there is the 18 month warrenty.

My daughter has used several different types of straightener - and the ONLY ones that do the job are the GHDs! I suspect it is partly the temperature and partly something to do with the plates. I do know that some of her friends can use the cheaper ones, but unfortunately she has inherited my hair (very thick and capable of remaining curled under extreme conditions!).

I've noticed with some straighteners is that the outer casing can get very hot too....I've burnt near my temples before, trying to straighten tricky bits there.
Don't have this problem with my GHDs at all they stay nice and cool to touch.

I have had cheap Remington straighteners until this week.

Before that, i'd been borrowing my friend's GHD's on a regular basis and i agree they are brilliant.

HOWEVER.... With my Amazon vouchers this Christmas i bought myself a pair of these Babyliss straighteners:

I can honestly say (i have no reason to be biased) that these are 100% just as good as GHD's. The only downside with the Babyliss ones is the handle can get hot if you have them on too long.

Seriously, i can't recommend them enough and they're reduced from £60 to £22.19, and Tesco and some others have already matched that price.
