Is it me or are the sales rubbish?

The sales havent been complete rubbish but I have struggled to find anything I really wanted. Yesterday me and the OH went to Southampton, I gave myself a budget of £50 with the intention of buying a pashmina or wrap to wear around the house or in the office when its a bit chilly, I couldnt find one I liked anywhere. In the end I only bought some reduced gift sets in Boots which are useful as I'll always need shower gels etc...
Maybe the summer sales will be better? well thats if any high street stores are still trading by then?!They have the internet on computers now?! - Homer Simpson

It was originally on the Grabbit boardNowhere! this isnt the Grabbit board so dont know why you're complaining?
Actually, I'm happy enough with the sales - I bought lots before in the pre-Christmas sales, and was lucky enough to get a Next sale VIP slot, so bought lots of home stuff then - plus the Boots sale was OK when I went yesterday
I also want to believe that as many retailers as possible will survive the current crisis, and so if they have to put everything on sale prior to Christmas to do that and have a bad January sale, well, maybe it's a case of doing what you have to to survive.[STRIKE]DFW Nerd number 729[/STRIKE]Debt Free & Proud0 -
Nothing on my amazon wishlist has come down in price...the big reductions in sales are usually on carp that nobody wants (that's why they have loads in stock and are desperate to get rid of it!)"The happiest of people don't necessarily have the

I thought the sales were rubbish too. Was in Aberdeen yesterday and looked into a few shops didn't see anything I fancied. Went into M&S at the front door and joined the crush, looked at some of the stuff and left emptyhanded by the side door. That's a first for me. Went round to Boots, some of the stuff was half price but before Christmas the same stuff was half price and on 3 for 2
so left with just a meal deal and haven't spent any points. Went up to Argos to buy a kettle for my mum and the queues wern't too bad and spent the £10 voucher + £5 gift card for Vat deduction I got for buying a freezer earlier in December. So I went to the cinema and watched Australia which is brilliant :T When I got back my OH said "Is that all you bought?" so I can't win can I :rotfl: 0 -
I reserved an item at Argos on Xmas Eve which could be ordered to be delivered to store by yesterday. It was half price at the time from £40 to £20 and just checked to see if reduced further before collecting it and is now back up to full price :eek:0

Some of the dresses on the Debenhams website have gone up in price - they were 70% off before Christmas and only 50% off now.
There is a 20% off code around now, but they had some 20% off days before xmas as well.

I got a £10 gift card for WH Smith for Xmas and I struggled to find anything in there yesterday worth spending it on, is it me or are gift cards a bit of a waste of time these days? I'd rather have cash! They have the internet on computers now?! - Homer Simpson

Yep rubbish. Spent this morning in Basildon. WH Smith: nothing, Boots: okay half price but very limited stuff and nothing that I wanted, BHS: bought 4 pillows for £10, but shelves empty, very disappointed, M&S: I had £45 vouchers to spend and came out with £45 vouchers, so they'll go on eBay. Spent 2 hours trying to part with my Christmas cash but really couldn't see any decent bargains. I think all the pre-Christmas sales have killed everything.0
