Government giving out £70 xmas bonuses for the unemployed.. ????

  • and actually the point of my original post was.....

I'll take your job and the salary it provides if you want to swap for the £70 bonus - but that £70 bonus comes with the £50 pw carers allowance I take because I am unable to work. So please do take my £50 a week carers allowance and the bonus, but it comes with 24/7 responsibility for 3 disabled kids and no respite.

I can't believe that there are people who would complain about the £60 payment, or make posters who are entitled to it feel like they have to explain themselves. What a world we live in.

As far as i know the extra £60 payment is for carers, pensioners and people with disability. This is to help cover the cost of winter fuel.

I thought the winter fuel payments were separate?

They arenormally NDG. AFAIK this £60 payment is thething Broon/Darling introduced to balance off the loss of the 10% tax bracket. Those who do work had their tax codes adjusted in the Autumn.
