Will be interesting to read this thread in exactly a years time. Either we can look back and laugh at people like dopster that planned for the end, or the internet will be cut off to help slow down the revolution, and we will be fighting for survival in the streets.
I'm still not sure what it will be?

Well, here we are a year later. My internet still appears to be working and I've just checked out the window and... yes, I can confirm that people still be appearing to be going about their business with very minimal fighting for survival going on.

Ahh well. Presumably all this has just been delayed because of QE and low interest rates though?

What's even more interesting, Cleaver, is that you've kept the thread stashed away... all ready to bring out for a re-airing - exactly that one year later. :D

But then, it is one that should never die!

I don't know if it's worth pointing out, but not everyone did survive this thread.

Man, it's deff armaggedon in Brighton. Send in a few snow blizzards and the whole town has ground to a halt (again....though just before Xmas, we made a hasty escape to London) but Lidl seems to be running it's own Armageddon/Russia during Communism Life experience moment..it has stocked no fresh fruit, veg, meat, milk, bread for days now.
Means I had to resort to the Co-op...who only had a half price fresh duck...nothing else at all...and I feel bad cos I am sure it's a battery duck too.

Today I was so not prepared. I heard the warnings, and I checked our cupboards. Not enough of anything at all. The house has been freezing for days as we haven't been able to buy any coal or logs locally for over a week. I do have central heating but it fails the Trade descriptions act as it doesn't heat our house up much at all.

So I trekked it down the cliff, in A Blizzard (no less) and felt all hunter /gatherer as I finally fell through the doors of the dreaded enemy; Asda.

It was a land of plenty as the delivery lorries had arrived in the night and the snow didn't kick in until early am. I stocked up and did my shoulder in hauling heavy bags up the cliff path...it was so trudge/grunt/trudge.

I have concluded that I would be rubbish during Armaggedon as 1; I didn't really take on board the warnings and get prepped, and 2; I don't own a gun and, if I did, would struggle to use it.

Mr Ginger (my rescue cat who still has big issues after 9 years ) just couldn't wouldnt go out for his business.....so I gave in and did him a tray and all his issues came to the fore (being held in a cage with tray etc) and he has had such a bad day. Wanting to use the tray but not being able to as he associates it with misery and capitvity.
He went out in the end but is very twitchy. Wonder if this is similar to what sends Humans a bit off the scale?

Eventually you will die of malnutrition...plus the sugar will make you a touch violent prior to your death. Kind of 'Go down fighting'.

There's a surprising number of PPR's, and others who just stopped posting. Perhaps fitting for this thread really, you can be going along quite nicely one day and then...

There's more Treliac....my cousin is over from Canada, finding his roots and all that...and got stuck in Godstone.
Godstone is very nice but £75 pn excl I mean....he's still recovering from the shock.

Anyway, they managed to drive the rental car down to Brighton and arrived this pm..., he grew up in Montreal and lives in Quebec so snow is no big deal.....except in a rental car without snow tyres.

I need some mental brain energy to post on the emigration thread as he wants to move back here as soon as his kids are big as he is a creative type and he felt he never had the opps in Canada.
He has a huge house (but has never earnt big bucks ever) and a cushty life but something is missing for him.
Dragged him around Brick Lane Sunday and his eyes just popped open.
