Thanks for the heads up, sand_hun.
I've added a comment to the linked thread, advising the good people of Praise and Vent that we've had a 2 mainly critical GE threads over here for years. That's all I'm prepared to do, given the atmosphere there. They can do what they like with the info! :D
  • It's been a while since this thread was replied to but my recent experience with Gardening Express has been painful. They sold us an Acer Maple tree(which looked great on the web site0) for over £100 and are unresponsive to requests for a refund (to cover all shipping costs etc.). We will never use them again and our advice would be to shop elsewhere.

Welcome to the forum, can we assume you failed to carry out "due diligence" before using this company?

I'm not having a pop at you and with your posting and others we all hope any potential customers will at least have a web search and find similar posts, however from what we often see it does appear the glossy picture blinds buyers in parting with their cash before even Googling GE or looking at Trust Pilot. Two recent reviews  with hundred similar are below, just from one search
"Atrocious so-called horticultural on line nursery. Ordered four standard roses, and received four standard, black-brown sticks with some roots attached"

"We were sold a dead tree which this company will not replace. Please do not buy from this company ever as their customer service is dreadful and their quality control is worse."

So it seems you are certainly not alone and your chance of satisfaction is slim

FWIW GE are still advertising in TV mags, lovely looking trees so we can expect similar post to yours unfortunately

Just for completeness what was wrong with the Acer?
