Thanks for the heads up, sand_hun.I've added a comment to the linked thread, advising the good people of Praise and Vent that we've had a 2 mainly critical GE threads over here for years. That's all I'm prepared to do, given the atmosphere there. They can do what they like with the info!0

It's been a while since this thread was replied to but my recent experience with Gardening Express has been painful. They sold us an Acer Maple tree(which looked great on the web site0) for over £100 and are unresponsive to requests for a refund (to cover all shipping costs etc.). We will never use them again and our advice would be to shop elsewhere.0

Two recent reviews with hundred similar are below, just from one search"Atrocious so-called horticultural on line nursery. Ordered four standard roses, and received four standard, black-brown sticks with some roots attached"
"We were sold a dead tree which this company will not replace. Please do not buy from this company ever as their customer service is dreadful and their quality control is worse."So it seems you are certainly not alone and your chance of satisfaction is slimFWIW GE are still advertising in TV mags, lovely looking trees so we can expect similar post to yours unfortunatelyJust for completeness what was wrong with the Acer?
