Yep - Valentines day too
I ordered on the 7th Feb and requested they be delivered by 5.30pm today - well it's and no delivery yet. I am so mad. I will never, ever use this company again and will be fighting for my money back no doubt.0 -

Myself and a number of friends placed orders with Gardening Express in December as I bought them all £25 vouchers for GE via Groupon (which cost me £7 each...bargain!). Of the 6 orders placed 3 were fine, 2 were sent the wrong items (which GE allowed them to keep for free, and replacement items were sent out, when they complained), and 1 included plants that were in a shocking state (potbound with brown mushy smelly roots that were obviously rotten). Unfortunately that last order was mine, but I didn't complain as I couldn't be bothered to wrestle with their stupid "ticket" complaint system.
I placed another order in January (they'd included a 20% off voucher in my December order so I couldn't resist), which included a number of the "rotten" plants I had ordered in December. Unfortunately they were rotten again and only half of them were fit for anything other than the compost heap. This time I have complained, so we'll see whether they take any notice.
Moral of the story - when you order plants from Gardening Express be prepared to be disappointed and if the correct order arrives and it contains good quality plants you will be really happy!
Well, I sent off my compaint to orders@gardeningexpress.co.uk on Saturday evening (the admin email address bounces) and got a reply on Sunday morning offering to replace the plants I had to bin as their roots were a pile of mush. Can't say fairer than that.
I mentioned all the bad reviews about their site and the annoying ticketing system and they told me that they are launching a new website soon due to the problems with their existing ones. Fingers crossed.0 -
I have had the recent mis-fortune to have ordered plants from Gardening Express. The plants were received in a poor condition after being unwrapped and the size of the plants when considering the cost, was more expensive than my local Wyevale (as everyone knows is the most expensive). All I got from them was if i return them all at my cost they would refund. It sounds to me they play on the fact this returns cost will put poeple off. My advice is stay well clear as their product is not worth what they charge.0

I got taken in by a Groupon deal and when I tried to use the voucher it didn't work. I attempted to use their Customer Service Ticket system, but it said "Sorry, A Technical Error Has Occurred".
When I eventually managed to get through on the phone, I was told the expiry date had gone even though the voucher date was still valid. They reset the expiry date and it works!
It clearly says on their website "Free delivery on ALL orders over £175", but even though my order is £191 (without even applying the discount) it adds on a fee for delivery.
As the Ticket system is still broken, I have been trying to get through to them for the last hour on the phone. The hold message keeps saying, "your call is important to us", then cuts off after 4 mins 38 secs every time.
If I ever manage to get through to them again and place my order, I wonder if the good will arrive.
This has not been a good customer experience.0 -
Bought a Groupon Offer for 5 fruit trees from Gardening Express I was worried cos it said limited numbers available and 2240 something had already been bought. Low and behold as soon as the deal ended, thier Website goes down with a "technicsl fault". Wish I googled them before hand! l'm hoping l'm wrong but worst ways I paid via paypal so should get my money back, shame though it was a birthday present for my Dad :0 (0

I recently used a groupon for 4 acer trees firstly I paid for standard delivery but was over 3weeks before my trees were delivered secondly I am very disappointed by the quality. The description reads up to 50cm tall and bushy what I received 4 twigs about 20cm tall I appreciated that upto starts at 1cm but I don't think 5 wilting leaves is classed as bushy!!! I haven't contacted the company as I don't wish to waste any more money on phone calls or p&p but instead will never use this company again! Wish I had read reviews or visited local garden centres first as have found same trees same price but healthy, bushy and twice the size!0

Hi
I recently bought a Groupon voucher for some Acer Trees @ £29.99 and paid Gardening Express another £ 5.95 for postage. The trees were supposed to be 50cms and bushy but came in tiny saplings with a few leaves. One of them was just a twig witjout any leaves - I still tried and followed all instuctions but it withered and died - I have raised a support ticket from the very frustrating website on 11th May - but todate have not had any response. I have now sent a emial to order@gardeningexpress.co.uk F.A.O. thier founder Chris Bonnett and am keeping my fingers crossed for a response.
The sting in the story was the same trees in much healthier state were avialable @ Morrissons for £4.00 each.
Unless I get a response - I would advise people not to order from this website or through groupon in a hurry.
