maytaurus - thanks for that link........could lose myself for a while on there...........lol

Thinking about doing pots of snowballs (marshmallows) instead of pots of gold this year -thinkeveryone had one last year so I want to change it a bit. The snowmall jars would be ideal..........:j

That's a great idea. There is a lovely cake shop in Sheffield which sells edible glitter in different colours. If you could put a little sprinkling of the irridescent one or a silvery one in that would look really pretty for snow

sian - thanks -never thought of that. Wonder if our local bakery sells that sort of thing. Must add to shopping list :j

I really must get myself organised -I'm snowed under with freebie fabric samples and lists of 'stuff to do/make'..........set myself silly deadline of end of august and I know I won't do it !
I've got three packs of pipe cleaners third the size of normal ones that I just had to have as they were cheap and don't know what to do with them. Could use some to stick on snowman jars for arms -cant think of anything else:confused:

    Hello all

    guess whos back!

Well i haven't done much crafting to be honest - I do need to get my bum in gear though

had a bargain the other month though of photo frames in wilkinsons - they are fancy ones that normally sell for about £5.99 well i had them for 50p - got about 3, adn the slightly smaller ones that are £3.99 I had for 20p so i have 3 large ones and about 5 small ones in the nice bended wood - so going to get a nice picture of Ben done and maybe a nice one of Ben and Josh done as part fo a Xmas present.

How is everyone else getting on - I need to really get a shift on now - starting to worry - I have hardly gotten anything started fro Xmas and by now i normally have a definite list of what im doing!
    Time to find me again

What a fab idea Mary, I love the sound of snowballs! And Sian adding edible glitter makes it even better and finishes it off. I might have to borrow that one if that's okay?!

The snowballs with edible glitter are a great idea
    As for a poem .....how about;
    I made these little snowballs
And gift wrapped them just for you,
So you can have some snowball fun
    without you turning blue.
You can eat them by the fireside,
You can eat them in the bath
but wherever you enjoy them ......
I hope they make you laugh !

  • great poem *nods*

You could also make white chocolate truffles covered with dessicated coconut as snowballs.

Lucy lu - help yourself. I did originally try and work out how I could make a snowball out of a white sock and fill it with marshmallows -pop a little felt hat on (cant knit!) but OH said it sounded a bit daft.........lol
I've got a curvy shaped coffee mate jar thats white and I can turn that into a snowman with no problem.
Last year I did some pots of gold in gravy granule tubs for those I had to post...........wonder if I could cover one in white felt and stick a white pom pom or ball on the top for its head ???
    I'll be dreaming 'snowmen'......................lol:rotfl:

maytaurus - thanks for the poem.............:T

Now........just as a change from marshmallows - does anyone know what those sweets were called that were smallish white balls -bit of a powdery coating - were they called bon bons ? They would be lovely because of the powdery effect.

Julie - not sure........bon bons -bom boms  Think I might have to google it............expect there'll be 1001 different things come up...........lol:rotfl:
I know dear old woolworths used to sell them and they were about the size of a maltezer

Just had a look and found them..........all different flavours but I remember the toffee ones. Just got to see who sells them now. Haven't checked the price on this site but I'm assuming they may be a bit dearer than when woolworths sold them
