Hello everyone, I just wanted to let you all know that mary43 has been poorly and had been in hospital. She is now home but still feeling below par so will be out of action on here until she's better.

Mary, think I'm safe in speaking for everyone in wishing you a very speedy recovery and we are missing you and welcome your return in the near future. Take care and please get lots of rest x

    HI everyone,

Greetings to the new crafters on here, and best wishes to Mary for a speedy recovery.

Thanks to the links I got from this thread, I've been in a beading mania for a while now, and making Hama ironed and weaved ornaments, hope to start some Christmas hanging charms in normal beads soon.

I made 3 bracelets last week, suffered a slight panic after my best one broke just as I was changing the duvet cover, and most of the beads fell inside - very hard to find! Need to re-thread them all on stronger elastic.

I've joined one of those Organising Christmas online sites and am enjoying getting myself super organised.

When I went into my local art shop this weekend to get some advice on my beads, they were having a 'make and take' day, happened to be all about beading. However, I had a bad headache and said I'd return - but didn't feel up to it. What I missed out doing is something I thought I'd tell you about in case anyone fancied having a go..

A bookmark made from a length of satin ribbon, about 1/2 inch wide fastened to plastic rings at either end. Attached to each ring were three dangly wires full of beads. Looked really good.

I have just bought some lovely fabric from Dunelm, it was reduced to £2.99 mtr, end of roll. The fabric is cream with ver pale beige trees/flowers on it, slightly raised. I have also bought a canvas and for my DIL I am embellishing the fabric, very delicate, with tiny Delica beads. I'm not adding beads everywhere but on the flower heads etc I am going to sew delica beads randomly in metallic aubergine as that is the colour of their lounge curtains. I am also doing the stems in a shiny cream bead so the light will just catch them. This will then be mounted on the canvas and fastened at the back with staples. I have done a couple of smaller ones for our spare room and they look fabulous. Cost is about £4 in total as fabric so cheap and I have tons of beads so no need to buy.

Thanks for your kind thoughts. I'll get there.....will just take a bit of time.

Now.............need some ideas. What can I do with a plastic coffee cup with a lid that looks a bit like a hat ? It's one of those you get with a 'takeaway cappacino'...............I can only think of putting a face on it and making the lid as a hat (which really it already is............lol)
