    Lol

    what are you both like

I need your opinions peeps. Im thinking of doign a romantic night in hamper for my dad and step mother.

So far its going to include

    - bath gown each/ possibly a fleece blanket instead
    - bottle of wine each (one drinks red, one drinks white)
    - chocolates
    - champagne glasses
    - candles
    - flower petals
    - incense burner and oils
    - CD of romantic songs
    - DVD - possibly 'PS I love you'
    - Do Not Disturb sign.

do you think this is ok - I want it to be nice for them both and they spend a lot of time together (don't think I ever saw my dad that happy with my mum) any other suggestions or anything i could change? Im debating whether to have bath robes and instead have a nice cuddly fleece blanket so they can curl up and watch the film together with a glass of wine and the choccies with candles burning.

    what do you all think?

sammy_kaye18 - Can you not do both the robes and the blanket? If you add some tea light candles, bath bombs or bubble bath and the flower petals so they can have a romantic bath, then when they get out they have their lovely warm bath robes to get into, to which they then snuggle up together under the blanket to watch the film?

Maytaurus - I can't help it, I lack concentration, although as soon as I get home I will start with my knitting, promise hehe

    That's a lovely idea :heart2:
I hope they will always be happy
If you have some photos of them,(or you could get copies of some)
you could put them together in a small book
    There's a lovely one here

I think that is a lovely idea SammyKaye, I think that will mean alot to your step mum!

I hope so because my sister and I both have different feelings towards her. After my parents divorced (it was my mothers fault she had an affair) my dad and her got together and they've been together ever since. My sister has never accepted her, or her two kids Jess (then 9) and James (then 7). There has always been an atmosphere between them and its never gotten any better. They ran off to gretna green and got married and they've been together 8 years in total now. My dad told me he had remarried after he'd done it but I was happy for him and her yet my sister was swearing and shouting etc at him. (im very much a daddys girl and my sister is mummys).

Either way my sister refuses to accept her or her kids - she never sends them birthday cards, Christmas cards, presents and only just acknowledges them if they are here visiting, whereas i send birthday, Christmas cards and presents to them all even my step mums mum (my step nan) and her hubby at Christmas. Plus I even have gotten her a step mum card for mothers day and recently sent her chocolates for her birthday.

My attitude is she makes my dad happy (and hes the happiest i think ive ever seen him) so im happy - plus i have a step brother and sister from the deal who are now 17 and 15!! now that makes me feel old considering i use to babysit them!

Oh wow that is another beaautiful picture, looks so delicate. My mum used to be really into her x-stitch. She did have a bit of a needle accident though, she put the needle into the arm of the sofa, sat down put her arm down and the needle went into her wrist. Unfortunately a bit broke off as well and she had to have an operation!!!

She's ok now though, I'm trying to convince her to get back into it as she's not done it for years due to getting re-married and moving. She has this beautiful santa picture that I really wish she'd finish.

If I convince her to finish it I'll get her to take a photo so I can show you all.

Sorry for such a long post lol

I had a similar accident last weekend. I was rushing to complete some stitchery and left 2 needles in to add embellishments when I went up to bed then quickly frame it and it would be ready to give to my friends the next day. I use the water soluble pens to draw my pattern on so with needles in! I held it under the running tap but not all the lines came out. Without thinking I rub it hard between my hands!!!! Half the needle stuck out of my LEFT thumb managed to pull that out but where was the rest. We couldn't find it so my DH said it had probably gone down the sink as the water was still running. Finished what I was doing went up to frame the work etc and then planned to go to bed. 10 min later I knew where the other half of needle was, deep in my RIGHT thumb. 4 hours later I was home from hospital. They had to call a plastic surgeon down as it was so deeply embedded, took him 15 min to locate it then about 5 min more the wiggle it out. Now almost 2 week on and I still have pins and Needles:rotfl: in the thumb it feels really weird and he said there may be so permanent nerve damage. Still managing to craft though:T :j :T
