Hi all
Had a brain wave whilst nattering on the OS board abotu things being tough and how we are adapting now.
Mentioned I was planning winter already and thought about doign a cuddle hamper for my sister. being that she's 22 and a single mum to two girls aged 3 and 18 months.
Figured I could include
pyjamas
fleece blanket
cup
hot chocolate sachets
marshmallows
slippers
bed socks
hot water bottle + cover
cookie mix
However was thinking about this a bit too much and now have cuddle hampers for
my sister - one in pink.
my oldest niece whos 4 - one in princess things
my young niece who will be 2 - one in fifi and the flower tots
my grandad who has arthritus - one in blue
my nan whos 65 - one in pale yellow and green.
doh!
even more doh!!!!!
Just told my mum what I was going to make and now she wants one in red or purple! so now of the 14 people i had to do Christmas for
6 x cards (4 with money)
6 x cuddle hampers (probably with a few added smellies etc)
so that leaves my dad and step mum to do.
Then Owens side which he does!
Bargain!Time to find me again0 -
sammy - sounds like you're well organised............wish I was...........lol
So far I've covered several shoe boxes for various people -filled one up for youngest sons girlfriend (she has a birthday as well and that box is nearly full - some of it unwanted gifts I'd got). Sons is well on the way to being full as well -got to be careful as I want to leave room for something in the 'snowball' line.
Oldest sons girlfriends box is filling up, mostly with smellies and I've a spare door hanger from last year that I'll do for her as a 'mums time' for the bathroom.
Foster daughter is having a mixture of whatever I find I think she'll like
Oldest son - not a clue yet
Teenage grandchildren -got some 'freebies' they can have
Baby grandson - got to get something for his birthday yet before I can think 'christmas'
At least you've got some kind or list to work on........my brain got a bit disorientated I think -hence the mish mash of stuff for folk........lol:rotfl:
Oh and can anyone suggest an alternative to flannel reindeers -think I gave one to everyone last year so want something different. Not snowmen as I'm doing snowballs instead of pots of gold (everyone had those last year as well)Mary

I love all the snowball variety ideas!
I love the sound of your cuddle hampers Sammy. Poundland sell hot water bottles in different colours but they don't come with covers if you're interested.
I don't know if it's been mentioned on this thread or not, but for anyone who doesn't know; Dawn Bibby is doing a three hour Early Bird Christmas Specials show on QVC on Monday between 2 and 5pm. It will apparently include kits and special offers, amoungst other things.0 -

Hi peeps
Was just having a thought - does anyone have one of theses teddies that you heat up with the rice bags in - was wondering fi they are any good because my nieces are only small and would hate the idea of something happening with a hot water bottle and scolding them so was thinking of one of these as I saw they can be warmed up on a radiator and was thinking I could get them a teddy one eachTime to find me again0 -
Hi Sammy, my mom got my youngest (at the time 21 months old) a penguin with wheat bag in it. The whole thing goes in the microwave for a minute and he loves it! It has never been to hot for him and was perfect to tuck into his coseytoes on the pushchair when going out on cold days.
He still carries it around but only has it heated up on cold days. You cant take a step forward with both feet on the ground0 -
Hi all - just had another thought on the snowball idea. What about make your own snowman. Large white (or pink for a girl) marshmallows cocktail sticks to stick together pieces of liqorice in red/black for eyes/mouth/nose only thing I havent got yet is a hat sorted. then you could add smaller marshmallows as snowballs and some edible glitter. Seal it all in a tube (like we were shown how to make earlier in the year a la jubbly ice lollies) and print on the printer a poem to go with it explaining in verse how to put together?0
