I too am making notes of ideas for next year. I have already asked my daughter to look out for fabric in the sales for me, she lives in Utah so craft heaven. I want some flannel fabric in red with white polka dots and some gingerbread colour. Might sound crazy looking so soon but when the sales are on there they have at Joann Farics each time it will be different type of fabric on sale. In a sale she can get me flannel for less than $2 yard so when I have ideas I give her my shopping list to look out for the best deals.

Hi all, Can I ask if anyone is making their own sweets and if so when do you make them - don't want them to go funny before handing them out just before Christmas? I made truffles years ago but it was for Christmas Day buffet - this time I want to be organised with different types and wrap them in boxes etc. Does this make sense :o

I too would like to know this?

Mrs Love - WOW How cute are the little pink bootees - you are really talented - really love your sweet jars too.

I'm having a frustrated day - went to Tesco at lunchtime and couldn't find any small sweetie cases (like fairie cake ones but smaller) anyware - they had every other size and shapes. If anyone sees them can you let me know for my sweetie boxes. Ooh they did have a sprinkle set especially for Christmas cakes - silver balls, teeny snow balls, glitter etc.

It may be no help, if you don't live near one, but I buy my sweet cases in Julian Graves. I think they were 99p for 100. I like their cake cases too - they seem to hold their shape better than most.

i just wanted to share something with you Xmas crafters...

i wanted some felt to make some more star tree decs and it was 40p for a small sheet in hby crft, so i bought a huge felt present sack from poundland to cut up - there is equivalent of £1.80 worth of red felt, plus 40p green and 80p white! So i'm very pleased at my thrifty-ness, and wanted to share the tip.

(oh, and it's ok quality, fine for the tree, but i wouldnt make kids toys from it.)
