Ive not had much time to post for a few months, what with moving into our new place, and finding a new job. So my crafting has taking a back seat for a while but this is what ive done so far for Christmas (not much though)

I'm going to learn to knit this year.... hopefully. So someone is getting something knitted!

I went into my local Red Cross charity shop and this lovely lady who looks like wendy from the wool shop on wallace & gromit taught me how to knit and sold me some knitting needles for 50p a pair and some wool for 50p to practice on - she was lovely and I can't wait to show her my work - I am going to do a square a week in different stitches and make a small blanket for starters - try your charity shop for knowledgeable ladies who still know how to knit and cheap supplies to get you started!

Re: the vase lights featured earlier in the thread - I came across this today - lights in a wine bottle - really effective and what a cheap and great way to have a light display. I'm not sure I would give it as a gift, but if the right wine bottle came along I think I would... a blue bottle with white lights maybe... http://craftingagreenworld.com/2009/11/28/handmade-holidays-wine-bottle-lamps/#more-2399

They're wonderful! I love those jars!
Haven't been on this thread for ages, everyone has been so busy crafting. But tomorrow is my Christmas crafting day to tie up all the lose ends and then post everything so hopefully might have a few photos tomorrow :) I'm not stopping until all the bits are made. Could be a long long day!

Actually while I'm thinking a bit ahead, for the Christmas cake how long should it be left between topping up the brandy and icing it? Been adding brandy for last coiple of months but not sure if it's worth adding a drop more tomorrow before icing it.

    Thanks guys,
    LMMS

    carmin - super work...........well done you :T

Kim - love the jars of reindeer food and spares :T

I'm just about done I think apart from a flannel reindeer -plus I'm grabbing a twig from our twister willow tree tomorrow to try and work out how to decorate it with dries chillies and orange slices............think it'll be a bit 'trial and error'...........never done one before so it might be a bit carp............still, I'll have a go.
I've googled all sorts of variations of twig trees/dried chillies etc. and not come up with anything  Must drag my 'imagination' from wherever it is :rotfl:
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !
