Scrooge, your posts are far from anal. Seriously, you are inspiring me to get off my backside and do more. I writes loads of lists for everything but rarely seem to complete them.

Re the 30 day challenge... hmmmm.. yeh why not. I've got over a stone to lose so I'm sure The Shred could help me in some shape or form so I'm up for it. Considering I haven't even put the DVD on, what do we do next? I think I am starting to regret it already... but I need some motivation to start exercising so count me in. Thanks.

OK micron, we are serious contenders in the Micron and Scrooge 30 day's in June 'Shred' challenge.

I'm going to imagine it's a scientific experiment and audit whether the claims work, so today's tasks:-

    Step 1
Grab tape measure and measure vital statistics . Weigh in. Only disclose if you want to.

    Step 2
Organise gym kit/trainers - weights and mat (if no weights and mat - improvise i.e. small bottles of water and a rug) .

    Step 3
    Test DVD

    Step 4
Determine what time of day the 'Shred' will be performed and make this the priority each day for the month.

    Step 5
    10 days of workout 1
    10 days of workout 2
    10 days of workout 3

    Step 6
Visualise ourselves as sexy starlets and watch it take shape :rotfl:.

    Step 7
    Post progress each day

    We can do it!

Seriously, yes we can DO IT! Thanks for the motivation... much appreciated. As soon as I have finished eating this delicious slice of cake (will be the last slice for at least 30 days!) I am going to get right on to the above steps you have kindly put together. I will post later. Thanks again you are a star. :A

LOL! I am frightening myself too! :rotfl:. This is hard core fitness we are launching ourselves into.

With regards to energy, I used to have none at all. I suffered from severe edometriosis and hormone issues and struggled through most days, but i've gradually turned it around, largely through diet and exercise and trying to alleviate stress through being organised. I also avoid practically all processed food, and try to talk kindly to myself, like I would a good friend.

Glad you are a Sex in The City fan too. The bit I did enjoy was the gay wedding, I thought that was brilliant.

Hi mdmd, fancy joining us?? It's kill or cure.

Yeh I enjoyed the gay wedding as well.

OK I got my butt in gear and have done the following steps:-

    Step 1
Got the tape measure out and measurements are (although not sure if I have done this correctly as I seem all out of proportion... oh dear)

    Weight - 9st 13lbs
    Bust 36"
    Waist 32"
    Hips 41"
    Thigh 24"

    Have I missed anything?

    Step 2
Gym kit, trainers, weights and mat all ready and waiting

    Step 3
I have finally put the DVD in player and OMG  it is going to kill me! I haven't done any exercise for years... I don't even walk anywhere. This should be interesting especially as Jillian has said that I shouldn't stop for a breather. I am glad I have looked at it before tomorrow, at least I can prepare my mind and body for it. I am definitely a beginner.

    Step 4
I am going to aim to do The Shred everyday at 11:00am.

Thanks again for the motivation to get exercising. See you tomorrow.

    Morning Micron,

I think the figure you already have is the one I am aiming for!

It's just your height, BMI and BFI that are missing ;). Only disclose if you want to, there's no pressure on this thread :rotfl:.

    Bust - 38.5"
    Waist - 33"
    Hips - 38.5"
    Belly - 37"
    Thigh - 35"
    BMI - 26
    BFI - 17
    Age 44
    Weight 11 stone 3lb.

It is strange looking at those figures. I think I did have an hour glass figure at one time, which turned into an apple, and has ended up a square :rotfl:.

Well here goes - 7.00 am in the morning for me, after posting on MSE. I am an early bird.

Thanks for your support, I really appreciate it.

1 out of 30 completed - status - still alive, but barely :T. 0.33%. I'm going to tweak my eating too, for maximum impact.
    Breakfast
    - Hot water and fresh lemon drink
    - Wholemeal porridge, melon and skimmed milk

    Lunch
    - handful of wholemeal pasta with berlotti bean and vegetable sauce
    - Break - Apple
    - Break - Melon and pineapple
    - 1 litre of water
    - 2 cups of tea
I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.

    Hi Scrooge,

Well, look on the bright side, you sure do have an hourglass figure - your bust and hips are in proportion - unlike my own (small bust and large hips and bum!).

    Height - 5ft 3ins
    BMI - 24
Apologies for my ignorance - what's BFI? I'm new to this.

I am also an early bird but have just changed my working hours to nights. I get home at 5.30am. I was considering doing The Shred at 6am every morning but decided against it. Will do it when I get up instead.

Well done in completing Day 1 of 30. I managed "just" to get through it. There was a point when I wanted to stop but I thought I couldn't let you down so I pushed through the pain! I keep telling myself that it will get easier as time goes by.

I am also going to tweak my eating habits. My main problem is large portions and no exercise.

    Breakfast
    2 slices of wholemeal bread
    1 banana
    Glass of water

    Lunch

    Portion of grapes
    Small salad

    Dinner

    Grilled Teriayaki Salmon
    Four small roasted jersey potatoes
    Carrots
    Green
    Parsnips
    1 Litre of water

I'm starting to feel positive that we will both get through our 30 day challenge and will be raring to go on the next one!

Hope you are enjoying your day.

That's fantastic micron, expecially as you've not been exercising for a while. I am so glad you didn't quit, it has really encouraged me. I feel very enthusiastic about this challenge now.

At work today a Salesman bought me a chocolate doughnut, filled with cream, which is my favourite, but I still have it in my bag. I will give it to DS as he can afford to put on a few pounds.

Just off to put a chicken on to roast and do my five make a difference things for today:-

[STRIKE]1. Proof read logo's and information for my headed paper and business cards and sign them off.[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]2. Prepare demo and go through with TL[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]3. Help DS with his project homework[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]4. TD/RB[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]5. Ring RBS lady to arrange mystery shopping appointment.[/STRIKE]

I'm 5' 6" and BFI is body fat index. I am not sure what it is, but I got the reading from Tesco talking scales.

    Have a great evening.

Thanks again. I'll check in again tomorrow.
