At weigh in this morning, I lost nothing despite a very disciplined week, but I am confident the weight will come off if I stick with it. I am feeling energised and my skin is looking good so i'll focus on the positives :).

I felt very embarrassed at the library this morning as I attempted to enrol. I was informed that I still owed £17.50 in fines from 2002 and money on an unrecoverable book. There is no way I can afford that this month, so I skulked away with my tail between my legs and no books.

After I got back from the library, I basically had a lovely, slobby afternoon and evening and did no more on the list. There's always tomorrow :).

I've been and done a couple of weeks worth of shopping at Lidl and also bought:-

    Leather Hiking Boots - £6.99
Bicycle Helmet for DS - £7.99
    Salad spinner - £3.99
Poster Paints - £3.99 needed for a school project DS is doing at home.

All are unbudgeted for but needed and good value, that was my reasoning anyway. That leaves me with only £23.04 general housekeeping/food budget until the end of the month. I am setting myself the challenge of living within that, but anything I get from selling on ebay will be added to this pot to ease it a touch. On that note, tomorrow I am going to venture into the loft and see what gems can be uncovered there as ebaying pickings in the house are sparse now. I believe that there are a number of pairs of 5" leather stilleto heals, in various shades, that DH optimistically bought me in younger times, i'll see if they'll sell.
I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.

    [STRIKE]Organise tea[/STRIKE]
    Organise things for Tuesday
Go to gym for Body Jam session
    Chill in sauna

The day has flown today. I saw another prospective client and they want me to do some work for them too, which is great. It will involve quite a lot of work to set up, so I will try not to add anything extra to my list this week that isn't urgent and I'll focus on New Business.

Some good news too money wise. I have been involved in a dispute with BT over the transition from Residential to Business line with website and VOIP phone. They made a complete hash up of the switch over and I have had to spend hours on the phone to them trying to resolve various issues. Eventually I referred it to Offcom and BT have now refunded all charges from the beginning of February until the end of June, over £300.00 !! Things are not completely resolved yet, but I now have my personal dispute resolver Chin, who phones me each day to update me on progress. The whole thing has been a complete farce everything that could have gone wrong has, but at least I've not had to pay for there incompetence! Rant over!

Well, things didn't really go to plan today. Up until 4.00 pm, I was skipping along, then I opened a letter from Tax Credits and decided to try and get that sorted, queue a number of calls, but I couldn't speak to an advisor. DS had a real paddy over his homework, so that took longer than usual, I was trying not to laugh, because it was obvious it was his wee hormones kicking in, but my smirks didn't help. Then DH phoned to say he was working late so I didn't get to the gym. I had this wave of tiredness come over me and thought, stuff it I'm watching tele, and that is what I did.
I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.

Crazy busy day, juggling as usual. School called to say DS was not well, just as I was entering into a meeting with the solicitors 50 miles from home. Fortunately DH was able to leave work and pick him up.

I have just been to another networking event this evening and I have now got quite a few new clients, but I haven't got my infrastructure in place to handle the work. I should have my website finished and branding organised for business cards and Letter Heads within the next couple of weeks. I have outsourced this at the best prices and quality that I could manage, but it will need to be paid for within my existing budgets. I'm not going into debt to fund the expansion, but it's going to be a very tight few months.... but then again, what's new!
I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.

Tired today. DS off school and i'm trying to motivate myself to clean the house, which has somehow managed to descend into havoc. I've had to bite the bullet and I've applied for, and got, another 6 mystery shopping jobs to do, which I'll do next Thursday, that will bring me in another £90.00. I want to ease back on these, but this month, as the song goes "Money's too tight to mention." The new clients will bring in money a few months down the line, but it's needed now. At the moment it's all expense.

Bobbing to this as I type:-

I've got to find another £950.00 too for the licences that I require to fully operate.

DS is off school today with a heavy cold, so I am having a laid back catch up day.

I broke my run of no spend days today, as I felt sorry for DS and bought him a Macdonald's lunch, I stuck to my lunch plan though :A.

I have got an extra £200.00 coming in over the next week though, from Mystery Shopping and new client, which I didn't have in my budget, but I don't want to touch this, so i'm going to stick with the original plan and make the budget balance through ebaying. I will venture up into the loft over the weekend.

DH helped give the house a good clean last night, without being asked, as I was feeling tired and grumpy. It was really sweet of him, but it annoyed me that it had got into such a mess that he needed to intervene, and I felt like having a good moan at him. Fortunately, I bit my tongue and took myself off to bed, because in reality he works very hard too, and is a good DH so I don't want to upset the apple cart there ;).

I'm just going to put it down to I can't do everything, and when something slips c'est la vie, onwards and upwards, there is always tomorrow :). New business got priority this week and house suffered, but it was the right trade off I think. This week the house becomes the priority. How is balance achieved????????

    Menu Plan

I've printed off recipes from Delia and Jamie, my favourite cooks for the following:-

Saturday - Roast Beef and trimmings - DH
Sunday - Salmon in champagne sauce and veg - Delia
Monday - Coronation chicken and baked potato - Jamie
Tuesday - Sausage, bacon and cabbage casserole - Jamie
Wednesday - Spaghetti Carbonara - Delia
Thursday - Tomato soup - Jamie
Friday - Prawn stir fry with brocolli and cashews - Delia

Make weightwatchers chocolate muffins and rhubarb chutney using rhubarb from the garden.

I'm going to replace cream in the recipes with craime fraiche and the champagne with a cheap quarter bottle of white plonk, but otherwise i've got most of the ingredients in the store cupboard and freezer, so it should be a cheap week.

I got sidetracked this afternoon. After copying and pasting the spring cleaning plan, I ventured into DS's room with him and began attacking it in a frenzy, pulling long hidden boxes of toys out from behind his cabin bed. I am ashamed to say, I had not been behind there in 7 years . We sorted out 7 black bin bags of clothes and toys, fit only for the bin. If Macdonald's toys were collectable items, he'd be a millionaire now. It's all off to the skip tomorrow :T. 5 hours later, he had an amazing, sparkly room , and he helped me the whole time. There was no time to make tea though, so everyone just grabbed cereal and toast.

Edit - DH was terrified that i'd thrown out lego and went through all seven bags, rescuing about a bag full of stuff that he is going to sell on ebay. He's a keen ebayer so he will probably generate a few pounds, which would be great. I still can't quite get it into my head, that DS's trash would be somebody's treasure, we shall see.

    Week's Spring Cleaning Plan :eek::rotfl::(

Plan for May - (Mid Month Review)

    1. Budget

I've prepared a budget, which is tight, but doable. I must stay within the budget in May.

Update - Still tight, but doable - must stay focused.

    2. Weight Loss

I will lose 7lb in May, if I can put on 7lb in one week surely I can get 7lb off in one month.

I have a food diary and exercise plan that works, SO I WILL STICK WITH IT!!

Update: I have more or less stuck with it, and I have lost 3lb so far, I am determined to keep it up.

    3. New Business

I will convert at least one of my leads into a new client in May.

Update: I have started work with two new clients, so i'm pleased with the progress here.

    4. Family and Friends
Meet up with close friends at least once in May.
Ensure DS and DH get quality time
Call/e-mail mum and dad regularly in May
Speak to sisters and cousins at least once in May

Update: I have had long telephone calls to mum, dad, sisters and my cousin. DS and DH seem happy, and I feel like we're working together as a family. I have spent time with two of my closest friends and will meet up with the third one at the end of the month.

    5. Flylady

Organise a Flylady week, where each room gets a deep clean.

Date - week commencing 17th May 2010. I have a few days off work that week.

Update: I've started on this, so I will continue as a really deep clean of the house will be cathartic.

    6. Nature and Culture

    Join the library.
Organise a beach walk, followed by Fish and Chips, along the East Coast.
Organise two trips to the cinema - one with family - and one with my cinema friend
Take a boat trip to the Isles of May with DS.

Update: I am a member of the library already, apparently, but they will not let me borrow any more books until I pay an ancient, outstanding fine of £17.50, which I can't afford to do this month.

I have organised a cinema trip next Friday with DH,DS and MIL and the following Friday with DF, all paid for with Tesco Cineworld vouchers. I have also booked the family on to a trip to the Isle of May, on the last Saturday in the month. I have wanted to do this for years and I'm really looking forward to it. I will do a beach walk on Tuesday with DS as I have a number of mystery shops arounds Kirkaldy, St Andrews and Glenrothes and DS is off school that day. I will combine Mystery Shopping with sight seeing, walking and fish and chips so that DS has a nice day.
I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.
