Hi everyone, and all the best on your personal challenges.
It sounds like you've had an incredibly tough time Pooky, since your original post, and it must be so difficult watching your DH try and come to terms with his dramatic change of circumstances, while coping with all the frustrations yourself.
Well done on having achieved so many of your original goals, though.I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.0 -

So it should be a quiet day covering at the office, followed by a nice walk with the family and fish and chips on the beach.
Having said that, an advert went out through the Job Centre on Thursday for two welders and the phones have gone mental - 120 calls already, so it could be very busy.
Have a good day!
What actually happened:-
I worked 7 hours and it was a nice, quiet day where I got all the work done that I needed to.
DH is feeling a little bit under the weather so no walk, but I got a takeaway for DH and DS and just had an 1/8th slice of pizza and a handful of chips.
I couldn't find my gym kit or swim suit, so I ended up staying in and having a nice hot bath with loads of bubbles and doing my nails and hair.
After that I did my 'Shred workout', DS literary homework and watched Great British menu. Finished off by getting everything ready for Tuesday. Nice stress free day. DS cleaned his room and DH cleaned ours.
Lesson learnt - have a place for my gym/swim kit. Bottom drawer of dressing table.I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.0 -

[STRIKE]-Chill out with family[/STRIKE]
It's going OK today so far, though I was absolutely starving at 4.00 pm so I have had an early tea. I think this was because breakfast was at 5.00 am, so not enough calories to sustain me.
One of my potential clients has become a client today :j. They have already assigned me an extremely interesting case that is going to really tax me, but that is good, I have been coasting for too long.
Lesson learnt today:- I am tired by 7.30 pm on Tuesday due to early start, so nothing is to be scheduled after that time and I need to eat more regularly through the day.I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.0 -

Busy, busy day today, and I almost forgot to eat. I was doing my Mystery Shop with DS when I spotted an outdoor clothing store with a sale on, cue I spent £68.00 getting stuff that DS needs for his school activity holiday at the beginning of June. I had only budgeted £50.00 and I still have walking boots to get him. So I am busy rejigging the already tight budget again and it's only the 5th. I managed to survive the Shred again and i'm off to the gym now. Calorie intake has been low, so I deserve a pat on the back from the scales ... we shall see.
No time to cook tea, so DH got pasta, DS a Macdonald's and I had a sandwich.
Lesson learnt:- I never budget enough for DS, I need to more realistic!I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.0 -
Oh Scrooge I googled 30 day shred, again I'm in awe of your self discipline. For the moment I'm going to look at what I eat, and when, think I know I'm guilty of naughty things !
Have a mountain of things to do today, hopefully will burn off a few lbs..DC.
"Some people walk in the rain... others just get wet... " - Roger Miller0 -
Morning DC,
That sounds like a plan! I am determined to lose weight this month, I am bored with seeing lose weight as a goal, and realising that almost a year on, I weigh more than when I started.
I think I am having a light bulb moment here though. I have been looking for easy options to lose weight all this time, but I think, for me, it's got to be the same way as I got out of debt, massive cutbacks and very hard work .. C'est ma vie.I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.0 -

No lollypop today because of the election, great stuff.
Well it's been the kind of day that normally knocks me completely off plan, with clients ringing and half the neighbourhood running around the house, but I went with the flow and did most of what I hoped for without getting stressed.
As I did my Shred DVD the kids turned up and were gawping and saying they didn't think someone of my age would be able to manage it, they thought I was about to have a heart attack ....I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.0 -

[STRIKE]Flylady house[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Work thorough above list[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE] 7.00 stop and chill with DH[/STRIKE]
A nice steady, eddy day today. I have done some more work for a new client this afternoon, which wasn't planned, which meant that I left quite a few things on my list, but they can be done tomorrow.
With developing the new business I am having to cut back significantly on the time I spent doing the £10.00 a day challenge. In the short term this means an incredibly tight few months, but it should pay off over the longer term.I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.0
