Gosh, I've not posted for a while.
Hi everyone
1) Stop taking money out of savings account - :j
2) Triple the amount in my savings by the end of 2009 - the savings haven't been going up as much as I would have liked, but this was due to having to pay £99 for a train to London for an interview (for a job I didn't get) and £66 for 6 months road tax.
3) Get a better job I love (and hopefully pays lots) as soon as possible - no luck so far.
4) Stick to a weekly budget - :j so far so good.
5) Money left over from weekly spend to go into a sealed pot of it’s own. Once the year is up - of the pot gets too full - it will be added to savings -Still need to buy a proper pot - A def task for this month.
6) Write two reviews for Bview a day - I've promised myself I'll start this week.
Some new things:
7) Look into some photography courses (hopefully free of cheap ones at the local college).
8) Start taking my camera out more and taking more pictures.
9) Try to find a free creative writing course.
10) The company I had the interview for have just agreed to pay half of my travel expenses, so I've an extra £49.50 this month which I'll add to my savings as soon as it arrives.
That's all from me for now. I'll try and update more regularly too.

I would like to say well done to those who have put up their challenges. It is impressive to see how many have been achieved.

This may take a while.......
5. Stop sitting at the computer for hours on end. Trying, not been on here much this week....
6. Get off my backside and take control First off diet and exercise - been walking a fair bit this week, getting rid of junk food in house (eating it:D ) then will start diet on monday.
Long Term
1. Pay of existing debt of £5386.32 by end of October 2009 ongoing currently owe £4568.16
2. Save at least £500 in my "secret account" ongoing (£40 so far)

My challenges to start with are:
1. Always have a shiney sink and clear sides in the kitchen when i head to bed - done most of the time but still room for improvement
2. Apply for my professional 'letters' from my back pay - sent the paperwork off yesterday, my have a problem that they want online. applications but i can't do that as my records cover a large span of time. the application is now being assessed and they've taken my money. just 4-8 weeks to wait for a decision.
3. Declutter the bedroom, and get it decorated - just needs decorating which will happen in two weeks. decorated now, just need to re sort things out as have to find homes for things which were on the bookcase that's been taken out.
4. Go back on the use it up challenge (the only one i really managed with any success) - have started this, see how long it lasts again
5. Declutter the kitchen, get new cupboard put up and decorate it - Done yay
6. Declutter the living room and finish decorating it - just need to finish the decorating, again in two weeks time. Just needs a little bit of tidying again.decorated just need to finish the tidying again.
7. Find out about piano lessons and have one per month. - not sure this will happen - need to make more of an effort to sell the piano now to make space and get back some money
all in all not a bad effort and i'd forgotten some of the things on my list.
New targets
1. clear overdraft - reduced it to £600 (well asked to reduce it for the second time this month)
2. spend more time with my dad - he's very sick - sticking to this one
3 put my garden plans into action. built a raised bed and moved the veggie plot, will be an ongoing task all year but that's ok.
Here's my update, i am still play thing this challenge.
New challenge - find a good ISA to start saving to pay back my loans, want one i can put random amounts in, can see online and pays some interest.0 -
Ok, have serioulsy fallen off the wagon with this one (I can't even find the post with what I commited to for February
)
So I will set myself some more realistic targets for whats left of this month! I have a week off work next week, so while DS is at nursery, I am going to re-paint the kitchen and bathroom, and re-paint the stairs while OH is at work and DS is in bed.... so my targets are:
* Paint kitchen units
* Paint stairs
* Paint woodwork in bathroom
* Start running (have been saying this for ages, but have actually got some trousers to run in now!)
* Start meal planning every week (my freezer is full yet I'm still buying loads when shopping!)
* Find some more bits to eBay
* Daily Scratchies
* Meet NSD target
* Maintain PAD's
That'll do for now, I may add some more as I go, but I actually want to achieve something this month!:rolleyes:'We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars' - Oscar Wilde0
