Evening all. And Happy Easter
Here's my update.
1) Stop taking money out of savings account - ongoing
2) Triple the amount in my savings by the end of 2009 - now all my savings is in my newly opened ISA. I'm definately on target with the savings
3) Get a better job I love (and hopefully pays lots) as soon as possible - Still looking
4) Stick to a weekly budget - So far so good
5) Money left over from weekly spend to go into a sealed pot of it’s own. Once the year is up - of the pot gets too full - it will be added to savings. - I never seem to have much left over, so it may be a while until the pot's full
6) Write more Bview reviews - I've started writing more since the end of March. Hoping to write 20 at least this month
:EasterBunLooking forward to the future.0 -
Target for this week:
1. get the ironing done and empty basket, just come off holiday so there is a ALOT to be done.
2. keep sanity while kids off school, roll on April 20th
3. get hubby to submit tax return, don't want to be caught out like we were this year.
4. get hubby to sign on with agency for extra work, self employment is no joke at the moment
This Year
1. Pay of existing debt of £5386.32 by end of October 2009 ongoing currently owe £4209.08
2. Save at least £500 in my "secret account" ongoing (£40 so far)
3. carpet the lounge, dining room, stairs and landing - its completely bare and has been for past 4yrs ongoing

Am I too late to join this challenge?
I'm tired of. and embarrassed about, the abortive attempts I have made on other challenges......just don't mention the "live on £4K" one
Here are my challenges for January anyway:- Clear DD's room properly (i.e. not just move the stuff to around the house) in order to receive a lodger in February.
- start clearing the loft
- clear the patio of the bits of wood/old furniture etc that have accumulated there. This being the first stage of sorting the garden in 2009.
- Get back into writing, by putting aside Sunday afternoons (except when visiting aged P's, or Skyping Popeye, or other excuses
) to do it.
- Contact planning authority to work out a way of extending our property to accomodate the extra family we may acquire (see above) if the lodger and we are happy to carry on for years. We have a collection of step-kids and we don't want any of them to feel ousted or unwelcome. The extension may only be a garden office, but we need to plan.
- lose some weight and get as fit as my arthritus will allow. I'm sure the weight I've put on in recent years is down to me being less active because of stiff joints.
Well I should be really embarrassed about my slackness on this Challenge of Challenges:o:o~and I am
I think I updated my progress more recently, but I've dug out my original list and can up-date some of it quite successfully:D
1) I *did* clear DD's room, and the lodgers arrival has been more or less successful. Except for additional expenses to accomodate everybodyWe will for example have to buy a sofa bed because DS2 cannot survive sleeping rough on the sofa/floor/airbed. (He's 6ft 4ins, but gets the short straw cos he's the youngest :rotfl:) and when the kids visit they tend to come all at once.
2) haven't touched the loft......:o
3) the patio was cleared and gardening is now underway, potato bags and tomato pots will look much better
4) writing not touched.....:o
5) planning authority need a drawing now, though they seemed quite sympathetic
6) lost weight - and put it back on
so going into April (Whaddya mean it's halfway through already? How did that happen?) I need to:- Clear a brambly corner of the garden and plant it with the cuttings and plants that the outlaws gave us to make an attractive bed.
- Plant my seedlings into the veg patch
- On rainy days clear the loft.
- All the above should help me lose weight -again
