Not sure about tips on motivation...I read ages ago on FlyLady that you can do ANYTHING for 15 minutes, and I suppose it's pretty much true. So rather than planning a massive task that you'll lose sight of, just set yourself 15minutes to make a start. Once you've done 15mins, stop. It's only 15mins, but it's amazing how much you can actually do in 15 mins!
What are you actually trying to do? Why not work out the 10 most important things that you want completed and post it here? Then every day just update whether or not you're managing to get on with it. I'm working on the same list items I had several days ago, but as one gets done it gets crossed off and others added at the bottom...seems to be working for me and I'm the world's biggest procrastinator!0 -
- Hang mirror in en-suite that's been leaning on sink for 3 months (probably 4 now!).
- Empty the tools out the bathroom cabinet that have been there since we hung it 6 months ago, and fill with useful stuff.
- Shampoo lounge carpet (still might not do this one yet!)
- Put washing away, do more
- Bag up and Freecycle at least 10 items of my clothing
- Sort out DS2's wardrobe and Freecycle all that's too small
- Update Spreadsheet
- Ebay post - 6 items
- Pay off Egg card, £90ish outstanding
- Paint (or DH paint!) first coat on newly plastered en-suite ceiling
- Collect expenses cheque from offices at work (and paid it in to the bank)
- Do another rewiew on DooYoo and rate as many as poss.
- List something...anything...on Ebay
- Find box of books from garage and put away properly now we have shelves for them
Another 50% achieved day yesterday. So, for today...- Hang mirror in en-suite

Hello Panda :T on achieving from your list!!
Been a while since I updated on here but I think my main, long term goals were to ...
Decrease the rent - Sorted - we've moved - saving £175 per month in rent, £25 per month in Coucil Tax and £15 per month in utilities.
Get DH to take and pass his exams to earn bonus - 2 exams done, one planned for next month and bonus due in Augusts paypacket.
Decrease debt by £6k this year...hmmmm.
Moving house will work out cheaper in the long run, but finding the extra deposit/rent (we had an overlap of 3 weeks due to fussy agents) and clearing all the outstanding utilities from previous property (moving after the heaviest quarter wasn't the best idea ever), means that we're nearly £1k deeper in...but it could have been worse and it will only take a couple of months to get straight.
So new targets...
Ebay - get 25 items listed by the weekend (providing I can find 25 items)
Start a sewing job for a friend - will take hours but she always pays me a good rate.
Trall through quidco etc for free money.
Cut grocery budget - it's been slipping lately and I need to get back into better habits.
Wish me luck"Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
Good luck Pooky! Great progress so far, and the next couple of months will fly by till you start to see the benefits.
Not seem much on Quidco lately, but I've been getting into DooYoo - have you signed up there?0 -
I would like to join please, I would like to complete my mini challenge of having a free Christmas 2009 or as near to one as I possibly can, and I would also like to clear the barclaycard goldfish (£5000) by the end of the year.0
