I'm struggling too. But am determined. So far I've done ok(ish) and when I've slipped I've tried to rectify it as soon as possible and not let it affect my real goals.

    Stay positive x
    Looking forward to the future.
  • Ohhh not many post here  , I have been offline for a while but here is my post :j

  • Morning everyone - if there's anyone out there still doing the challenge.

    Here's my update:

    My current challenges:

    1) Stop taking money out of savings account - ongoing
    2) Triple the amount in my savings by the end of 2009 - this is going quite well. I'm saving and saving as much as I can. I'm definately on target at the mo :j
    3) Get a better job I love (and hopefully pays lots) as soon as possible - Still job hunting like there's no tomorrow. One of the main reasons I've not posted for a while.
    4) Stick to a weekly budget - Managing so far. It's so much easier paying for everything by cash than cards. I really think I'm managing to get into the habit of thinking about what I buy first.
    5) Money left over from weekly spend to go into a sealed pot of it’s own. Once the year is up - of the pot gets too full - it will be added to savings - I neeed to buy a pot. The left over money is in a drawer - but I've not dipped into it yet, though it's tempting!
    6) Write two reviews for Bview a day - I'm planning on starting the reviews again next weekend.

I hope everyone is keeping up with their challenges, even though we haven't heard from you.

    x
    Looking forward to the future.

    Hi everyone!

I'm still here, honest. Not giving up, just not posting much as I've got so much going on, and I'm determined to get on and do stuff rather than sitting on my fat backside on the computer all the time (like I'm doing now!). Will update new joiners on P1 ASAP, in the meantime those of you who are lurking/skiving consider yourself KICKED UP THE BUM!!!
  • My challenge is to pay off my student OD (I graduated four years ago this June) and credit card by the end of the year so I can start over paying my loan. It's looking good so far- see my sig. I think the thought of paying off relatively small debts is very motivating, whilst the thought of throwing extra at big debts is just plain scary!

I've also done an 'ideal' SOA and a real SOA and they are pretty different- mostly in the entertainment and clothes columns. The challenge for March will be to get them spot on where they should be, and throw the extra at the credit card!

I'm another one for not keeping up with challenges, so i'd love to be able to join you if possible.
My challenges to start with are:
    1. Always have a shiney sink and clear sides in the kitchen when i head to bed - done most of the time but still room for improvement
    2. Apply for my professional 'letters' from my back pay - sent the paperwork off yesterday, my have a problem that they want online applications but i can't do that as my records cover a large span of time
    3. Declutter the bedroom, and get it decorated - just needs decorating which will happen in two weeks
    4. Go back on the use it up challenge (the only one i really managed with any success) - have started this, see how long it lasts again
    5. Declutter the kitchen, get new cupboard put up and decorate it - Done yay
    6. Declutter the living room and finish decorating it - just need to finish the decorating, again in two weeks time. Just needs a little bit of tidying again.
    7. Find out about piano lessons and have one per month. - not sure this will happen - need to make more of an effort to sell the piano now to make space and get back some money

all in all not a bad effort and i'd forgotten some of the things on my list.

    New targets
    1. clear overdraft
    2. spend more time with my dad - he's very sick
3 put my garden plans into action.
