Morning everyone, and welcome LittleBit, You seem to be racing through your list and you look like you had a really productive week micron. 7 x Shred :).

I'm back from the camping stage of my holiday and it was really good fun overall.

I felt like an overgrown girl guide, and kept having to adjust my focus to see the positive side of the experience :rotfl:, as the weather was challenging on occasions, and the camp sites chosen by DH and DS were basic to say the least and remote. They like the Ray Mear's experience.

Still, we spent £4,000 last year going to a luxury villa with pool in Menorca, with extended family, and they both said that they far preferred this year's adventures, which came in at around £200.00.

I've actually lost weight too, as the food was rather basic.

I'm off sailing this morning, but will have my first hot bath/wash for ten days first. I'm not sure i'll miss cold showers xx.
I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.

    END OF MONTH REVIEW

    Plan for July

    1. Budget

I've prepared a budget, which is quite comfortable, so no excuses for not sticking to it!

    End of Month Actual

Mid month we were in the red by -£960.00, but we had a budget of £1,000.00 for our holidays and we have only spent £200.00, so we finished the month -£140.00.

    2. Weight Loss

I have set a target of 4 lb weight loss in July. I will do this by completing another 30 days of 'The Shred' at level 3, and having at least 22 AF days.

I will track my food and fitness every day on Sparkpeople, to ensure that my weight continues to trend down and that I am eating and drinking correctly for health and well being.

    End of Month Actual

4lb loss and 22 AF days, so target hit here, though not in the ways intended.

    3. New Business

    - Licence applied for
    - Website finalised
    - Full pitch to client 1
    - £150.00 of additional income

    End of Month Actual

Neglected for most of the month. This area is now the focus for the 100 day challenge.

    4. Family and Friends

    - Meet up with close friends at least once in July.
    - Ensure DS and DH get quality time
    - Call/e-mail mum and dad regularly in July
    - Speak to sisters and cousins at least once in July

    End of Month Actual

I have been very sociable this month and spent lots of time with family and friends.

    5. Flylady

I am working out a schedule with DS, for housework, and we will track it for the month of July. He is helping me, and will be rewarded with extra pocket money.

    End of Month Actual

This area is going particularly well. The house got a very thorough clean, the full Flylady treatment, and I have managed to maintain it in tip top condition right until the end of the month.

    6. Nature and Culture

    - We are going camping at the end of July for 10 days
    - We have visitors for the third week in July, so I will organise trips
    - Trip to the Isle of May
    - Two day sailing course on the Firth of Forth
    - Finish Cider With Rose, The Kite Runner, Sophies World and Lord Jim.

    End of Month Actual

Lots of trips out this month to beaches, castles, restaurants, swimming etc and plenty of reading done.

    7. £10.00 a day challenge

    - £160.00 extra from New Business
    - £150.00 extra from Mystery Shopping

    End of Month Actual

Way behind here, I earned £18.00 this month and my focus here needs to be on developing the New Business.

    8. Special Project

    - 10 hours - SF
    - TW x 4
    - BR x 31
    - DT x 31
    - PS x 31
    - MT x 4
    - TWA x 1

Because this area is concerned with longer term plans it always gets neglected, so this month I will make it THE PRIORITY, I will do it first thing before anything else.

    End of Month Review

Neglected at the start of the month, but I have caught up here whilst on holiday.

    Overall

House, family and friends and nature/culture are going extremely well. Weight and fitness are on track.

During the last two weeks of the month my budget has been pulled back almost into line and the Special Project given a lot more focus, so a good end to the month.

Mid month plan for the rest of the month

I will be careful with money/weight/fitness/alcohol for the rest of the month, but my three focus areas will be:-

    1. Designing a plan that will dramatically increase my income, through my New Business, without taking up huge amounts of time.

    2. Catching up with Special Project Plan, so that I finish the month on track with that.

    3. Goking my wardrobe.

Update:- I have read a book on NLP, another on Mind Mapping and a third book on Goking my wardrobe, whilst on holiday, and I have mind mapped plans for my New Business/Special Project and wardrobe, which I will start to implement in August.
I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.

I have been absent for far too long. Glad you had a good holiday. Personally I am a big wimp when it comes to camping, last experience was sometime in 1979, and that left me fearful forever. I'm sure things are much more civilised now.

Anyway I have a very basic August challenge, it's simply to get a grip of the decluttering, I always start with big plans and just give up. Goodness knows how many times I've started this, but I just can't find anything !

Enjoy your sailing (again this totally scares me unless it involves a ferry or hovercraft!)

    Morning DC,

They were certainly no more civilised where we were staying. I have heard there are places where there is hot running water and electricity, but I wasn't allowed anywhere near them. DH and DS said it would ruin the authentic experience!

How about a list for your August declutter and then you can cross off each item as you accomplish it. We'll cheer you on.

    A list ! It's quite simple
Everywhere ! Here goes, without moving from this chair this is what I can see :

[STRIKE]2 shelves under desk stuffed with paperwork[/STRIKE].
[STRIKE]Wicker trays - supposed to be the boys school stuff - overflowing with more paperwork.
[/STRIKE][STRIKE]Under fishtank, books, next catalogues, instruction manuals.[/STRIKE]Windowsill, just stuff.
    [STRIKE]Table, ugh...[/STRIKE]
TV stand, games, DVD's and more ugh !

Reckon I can do that today ? Because you know once I start that windowsill it means I won't be able to get down until I've done the windows too. I have to say 'get down' because it is a massive bay window effort ....

Can I have one more cup of PG first ?

YEP! Cup of PG first and when I come back from my sailing, i'll check in to see all of those items crossed off.

You could start a little camp fire in the back garden and burn everything that you don't need first and then cook lunch over your fire as you read your book ;). Come and join me in a commune with nature :rotfl:.

We need a rousing name for August, any suggestions .................

hello, just popping out of lurkdom to say, can I join please? I thought that it would help me out if as this challenge states, I have to commit to finishing. So if I may can I set myself a challenge for the month of August? This would be to actually be able to open the door of the spare bedroom and put a bed in there  Moved into OH house and when we have visitors, despite living in a 3 bed house we have to sleep on camp beds in the living room:(. It is difficult to completely clear it as all the "stuff" is his and he has a problem letting go of things. It doesnt help that when he lived at home with his parents, his Dad frequently just threw his stuff away so I am very wary of sorting it out.

To be able to do this I need to
    • clear some space in the wardrobes in our bedroom (Gok capsule comes to mind) will allow me to clear some boxes of clothes from the back bedroom into the wardrobe - freecycle and charity shop any unwanted clothes
    • freecycle a small two seat sofa from our bedroom which will allow me to put in more storage space
    • build some bookshelves that match the bedroom set in our bedroom to be able to move some books into there from boxes in back room
    • arrange to get the shed built so I can move some boxes into it (some bits of the shed are in the back bedroom!)
    • arrange to get a new inner blanket for the storage heater that OH took out of living room 5 years ago so he could paint. Oh living room still not painted heater is currently living in the back bedroom
    • arrange for said heater to be put back on wall in living room
    • move boxes from back bedroom into the shed when built
    • bring bed out of storage to put in back bedroom

Will this do for a start?
