Wow, Cha, hopefully the bathroom will be finished soon. If it were me, i'd be spending as much time out of the house as possible, while that lot is getting done. I'd also be grabbing my sisters with both arms to help tidy up afterwards.
It'll be lovely when it is finished though.
Today i'm having another holiday day, we are heading out to the beach. I am going to be very careful what I eat though, as i've gone seriously off track over the last few days.
Have a great day micron et al.I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.0 -
Morning all,
I only spent 10 minutes on the house yesterday and it is still very clean and tidy on the surface, but it is needing a spit and polish and hoover throughout. I'm back on track with my eating and I have only drank one glass of wine in the last week, so that has not been an issue.
I've had a lovely lazy morning, but I feel in the mood for a list:-

Hi all,
I'm still busy doing my FlyLady bit!! I'm hoping to take a leaf out of scrooge's book and once it is all done then spend 10 mins or so a day keeping on top of everything.
Scrooge, well done on getting back on track with your eating and I am so proud of you for only having one glass of wine in the past week. The weight must be dropping off you.
I am also trying to be really good with my eating habits this week. I do feel a lot better and hopefully when I weigh myself over the weekend I would have dropped a few pounds. I am sure the housework has got rid of a few calories!

Morning everyone.
Early morning cleaning this morning, so heading out in 20 minutes.
Sounds like you are making great progress on the house and weight loss micron, excellent.
Even the thorough spit and polish on the house yesterday only took 30 minutes rather than the usual couple of hours, and I am using the extra time to work my way to the bottom of the laundry basket, which is a very rare feat for me.
Thinking of you Wilf and DS, I'll check soon to see if DS made the cut.
Busy day today, as we are all heading up North for day trips Friday, Saturday and Sunday, but visitors are doing their own thing today, so I need to get really organised for the long weekend in advance.
Plan for the day:

MID MONTH REVIEW
Plan for July
1. Budget
I've prepared a budget, which is quite comfortable, so no excuses for not sticking to it!
Mid Month Actual
Not going to plan at all
Extras not budgeted for:-
DH - £200.00 insurance excess for breaking window
DS - £90.00 for buckling two wheels on his bike
ME - £120.00 for destroying MIL's Vinyl
Also DH thinks that there is a serious fault developing in the car, which is 3 years old in a few days, and the Warranty will then run out, so we have decided to pay for an extended Warranty, another unplanned £450.00.
Finally, guests have cost me £100.00 more than I anticipated.
Total behind budget is an astonishing £960.00 :eek::eek:.
2. Weight Loss
I have set a target of 4 lb weight loss in July. I will do this by completing another 30 days of 'The Shred' at level 3, and having at least 22 AF days.
I will track my food and fitness every day on Sparkpeople, to ensure that my weight continues to trend down and that I am eating and drinking correctly for health and well being.
Mid Month Actual
I have only done 'The Shred' a few times, but I have been very active and tracked my weight each day on Sparkpeople. Despite a few blow outs, my weight is still trending down, so I expect to lose 4lb+ in July.
I have just had a couple of glasses of wine this month, so I feel in control there.
3. New Business
- Licence applied for
- Website finalised
- Full pitch to client 1
- £150.00 of additional income
Mid Month Actual
This area has been neglected so far this month, but I intend to re-focus for MG 100 day challenge.
4. Family and Friends
- Meet up with close friends at least once in July.
- Ensure DS and DH get quality time
- Call/e-mail mum and dad regularly in July
- Speak to sisters and cousins at least once in July
Mid Month Actual
I have been very sociable this month and spent lots of time with family and friends.
5. Flylady
I am working out a schedule with DS, for housework, and we will track it for the month of July. He is helping me, and will be rewarded with extra pocket money.
Mid Month Actual
This area is going particularly well. The house got a very thorough clean, the full Flylady treatment, and I have managed to maintain it in tip top condition for almost a week.
6. Nature and Culture
- We are going camping at the end of July for a week
- We have visitors for the third week in July, so I will organise trips
- Trip to the Isle of May
- Two day sailing course on the Firth of Forth
- Finish Cider With Rose, The Kite Runner, Sophies World and Lord Jim.
Mid Month Actual
Lots of trips out this month to beaches, castles, restaurants, swimming etc and a lot more to come. I will have plenty of reading time too in the next couple of weeks.
7. £10.00 a day challenge
- £160.00 extra from New Business
- £150.00 extra from Mystery Shopping
Mid Month Actual
Way behind here, I have earned £18.00 so far and my focus here needs to be on developing the New Business.
8. Special Project
- 10 hours - SF
- TW x 4
- BR x 31
- DT x 31
- PS x 31
- MT x 4
- TWA x 1
Because this area is concerned with longer term plans it always gets neglected, so this month I will make it THE PRIORITY, I will do it first thing before anything else.
Mid Month Review
Neglected like last month, it certainly hasn't been the priority.
Overall
House, family and friends and nature/culture are going extremely well. Weight and fitness are on track, but my budget is completely blown and the Special Project priority area has been totally neglected.
Plan for the rest of the month
I will be careful with money/weight/fitness/alcohol for the rest of the month, but my three focus areas will be:-
1. Designing a plan that will dramatically increase my income, through my New Business, without taking up huge amounts of time.
2. Catching up with Special Project Plan, so that I finish the month on track with that.
3. Goking my wardrobe.I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.0 -
Wow scrooge, considering you have had guests this month you have still achieved quite a lot of your goals for July. :T
The less said about going over budget the better. Unfortunately, these things happen - next month will be a better month.
You had done fantastically well with your weight/fitness, Flylady, family and friends and nature and culture so you should be feeling proud of yourself.
Your AF days are working really well for you and it doesn't sound like you are missing not having a drink either.
A question for you, do you find it more motivating to weigh yourself daily throughout the week rather than once a week? I was only going to weigh myself once a week but am now considering whether I should be tracking it more often than that. I am also trying to lose 4lb this month. I haven't done the proper grapefruit diet but I have been having a grapefruit every day for breakfast and drinking at least two glasses of grapefruit juice per day. Fortunately for me I actually like grapefruit! Sounds crazy I know but I like sour! Have passed on the amount of eggs that should be eaten as I suffer from high cholesterol. May treat myself to eggs tomorrow though!
GOKing wardrobe sounds like a brilliant idea. I have got so much clothes that I don't wear (too small at the moment) and need to sort through that I suppose this is as good a time as any. Although, only 24 piece capsule wardrobe ..,....hmmm that should be interesting! Good luck with your 100 day challenge. I do something similiar but on a larger scale - 101 things in 1001 days. I may consider incorporating the 100 day challenge as a smaller more short term version.
Ciao for now

Thanks micron,
I weigh myself every morning, at the same time, and track it on Sparkpeople, but that is mainly because I am a data junky and can quickly spot when I am going off track, and make adjustments.
Once a week is probably fine if you are being disciplined about what you are eating. I would be very surprised if you hadn't lost a few pounds this week, you are doing great. I have seen studies where people lost weight just through drinking grapefruit juice before meals.
I am looking forward to Goking. The stone that I have lost, means that a lot of my clothes are now baggy and shapeless on me, and are not really doing justice to my new figure, so I need to address this.
How are you doing on your 101 things in 1001 days challenge? That sounds interesting too. I love all the ideas on these boards.
Keep up the great work x.I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.0 -
Thanks for the info scrooge. Although I have been fairly disciplined this week I doubt this will last so maybe I will have to weigh myself more often than once a week to keep myself on track. I think I will have to play it by ear and wait until Saturday before I do my first weigh in.
What a nice feeling that your clothes are too big - you have done so so well to lose the weight. Sounds like it is time to show off your new figure.
I'm not doing brilliant with my 101 challenge - up to 3 done at the moment. I am confident that I will get them all done with the 1001 days though and enjoyed putting my list together knowing that if I complete everything on then I will feel much much about myself and my environment.
I agree with you, the ideas on these boards are fab!Save £12k in 2017 #14

Morning all,
Heading up North today, so no lists. Clothes ready and lunches made, weather looks a bit better than yesterday, so off we go.
It's good that you've made a start on your 101 things, Micron. Only 98 to go!
Catch up with you all later x.I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.0 -
Hi all,
Hope all is well with everyone and that you are having a great time. We sure must be busy as it has been quiet on here over the past few days.
I finally finished my FlyLady week this morning...hip hip:j. Just going to try to keep on top of it every day now. I also lost 2lbs in the process which I am fairly happy with. Even though I did slip up and eat crisps a few days and didn't do as much exercise as I wanted to. This week will be better.
