scrooge you never fail to amaze me. How is it possible to get so much done? Not only did you have to be disciplined but motivated as well. I think you deserve the summer off after all what you have done this weekend. I'm sure your guests will appreciate it. And you still managed to paint your finger/toe nails - go girl!!:j

Well done micron, you've done brilliantly :j.

I'm the same, the only thing I haven't done is 'The Shred', and I think i've had enough exercise for one day. You'll find if you keep doing the lists week in, week out, you'll start to accomplish more and more in less and less time. I suppose it's like anything else, it gets easier with practice.

The house and me are immaculate, but what a lot of effort was required. I must find a way of maintaining it at a decent level, in as short a time as possible, before it degenerates again.

Feels so good though. My guests are not here yet, they've been delayed, so I'll go and have a nosey at Wilf's golfing star DS :).

    Morning all.

    No lists today - it's a holiday :j.

I'm just going to make up a picnic lunch for us all and then we are heading out to Stirling Castle and to Blackness for lunch. I've got Historic Scotland passes, so it should be a no spend day.

Then this evening we are heading out for a Chinese with a few others.

This week is going to be a major challenge for the diet, but hey ho, i'll try and keep an eye on things as I go with the flow.

    Good afternoon everybody,

    Hope all is well.

scrooge, you sure do deserve the day (if not month!) off. Sounds like you have a lovely day planned.

For some reason I am feeling mentally and physically tired today so not done much apart from food shopping and a bit of cleaning.

    Plan for the week

    Full FlyLady Week (yuck!)
    Yoga x 2
    Squash x 1
    Shred x 7
    Call Girls in NY
    Deal with o/s post
    Book theatre tickets

That's it for my week. The FlyLady schedule will definitely take up a lot of my time (I'm not as quick and efficient at scrooge in getting it all done in a couple of days) so I am not going to bombard myself with lots of other stuff to deal with this week. Once I have got this week out of the way then I will be back on the case again.

    Ciao for now.

    Hi there,

The mind boggles at the Call Girls in New York :rotfl:.

I've had a really lovely day out and the weather has been great. Everyone enjoyed themselves. I feel like I need a half day, at least, of doing nothing too micron, as I feel like I really need some down time.

On Wednesday my visitors are doing there own thing so I am going to really chill then.

It was so nice to come back to the house today and see it looking like a show home. I know in the past when I have got it to this level, there is very little work in maintaining it, but once things start to slip everyone views the house differently and it becomes a dumping ground again, and housework becomes a major chore.

I think I am going to try to keep the house like this for the next 30 days and track how long it takes me each day to keep it up, if I spend a lot less time than usual that'll really motivate me to keep it up.

This is my favourite housework quote; "I make no secret of the fact that I would rather lie on a sofa than sweep beneath it. But you have to be efficient if you're going to be lazy.

I do like the sound of having the spotless house that then only takes 10 minutes to keep on top of. Not really an option here though until the kids are a lot bigger than they are. I can't leave them without them getting up to something.

I personally did not a lot over the weekend apart from some ironing.

DH tidied the garage a bit, cut all of the grass at the back of the house, and watered and potted on some plants for me. He also went to work for 8 hours on Sunday, came home, scrubbed the kids paddling pool and then supervised them in it for a few hours.

I was going to do more but i bruised the bottom of my back while cycling on holiday and it is still causing me pain now. I struggle to sit in a proper seat, and so i am sat twisted to not put as much pressure on it. Hope it heals soon.

Today, i have wrapped and posted 3 ebay sales, been to the supermarket and bought £60 worth of shopping, came home and scanned it all and put away as much as i could. The workmen were in and out the house like i don't know what, so there are mucky footprints everywhere as it was raining, and also we have yet more tile dust and yuck from the loft all over. I now have a bathroom ceiling, and spotlights, and a fan though. The walls are now about 80% tiled, and i am really hoping that they will be done by the end of the week. I might then motivate myself to do a full house declutter and spring clean. It definitely needs it as everywhere is filthy with mucky marks and dust, and it is next month that my in-laws are staying here for 2 nights with the kids while we have a break away. I had it lovely before we left so i can do it again.

My sister has offered to come and help me do the mega clean, but i kind of feel i should be able to do it myself in spite of having the kids to hinder.

This week i am going to keep things simple. I am going to get some more bits listed on ebay and try and get some mystery shopping jobs, and try and clear the ironing pile. I can't wash while the weather is bad or they are cutting tiles outside, and the clothes would get mucky if i left them on the airer to dry on the landing. Therefore an excellent time to get the ironing pile down.

Hmm, maybe I should rephrase that to "call the girls in New York!" :rotfl:

Glad you had a great time - I thought you would. You still have a well deserved rest to look forward to on Wednesday and well done on keeping up to date with the housework. 10 minutes per day is definitely bearable.

I started my FlyLady week today and I sure was tired by the end of the day. Still got lots to get through but know it will all be worth it by the end of the week.

Ciao for now and catch up later.
