Heading out in the morning for bread, milk and a few little bits and pieces but the freezer is still utterly rammed.

we will need bread by sat or sun and fruit and veg prob by next mon or tues. But as long as i stay away from the shops then i'll be fine. cause i have a bit of a prob with food shops as it don't seem how little i need i just can't help but buy food and a trolley full when i'm there. i love food shopping weather i need it or not. so for me i'm gonna stay away as long as poss. hubby off work until 2 or 3. so will try and avoid until then. but pop to local shop for the milk or send hubby.

I am like this too! I can go to the supermarket for one item and come out with a trolleyfull of stuff! I am going to try and make what we have in the fridge freezer and cupboards last as long as possible. I will need to get butter or margarine next week sometime but that is about it. I am really going to try and resist until after New Year!

Sat. I needed milk, butter, mulled wine and coca cola.
  • I still have my milk delivered, it saves me from popping out for milk & buying extra stuff. I sorted most of my leftovers out & have over 30 meals in the freezer made from them.
I also have enough cheese & bicuits that I will use for my lunch that will last a month & a couple of gallons of soup.

  • I've got a delivery booked for 3 Jan. I normally have an end of month one and it was scheduled for the 30th but I've got so much stuff that I've moved it to the the 3rd, I'll move it again if I've still got enough in. Haven't got any bread, but plenty of plain flour to make at least 2 loaves in the BM.

  • I've had to go and buy milk today but that shoud be it until the end of Jan. I've just checked whats in the freezer and m,y rough meal plans take me to the end of Jan so hopefully I won't need to shop until then. I do get a veggie box every week though which also brings me 4 pints of milk so maybe this is a cheat?!?!
  • Next week at some point for fruit and veg. Preferably NOT New Year's Eve though!
  • I went to Mr. S yesterday for a normal weekly shop. I kept it pretty low and came out within budget. I resisted the half-price Xmas puds, after all do I really need them @ £1.99 a throw. I'm sure I could knock up a syrup sponge or an apple pie cheaper than that. I did get some reduced blueberries which I have frozen for blueberry muffins sometime soon. The shelves looked very depleted especially the fresh stuff. I will be back again on Tuesday to get stuff for the family coming round on New Year's Day for dinner and tea so I hope they have stocked up by then.
