why bother when you can buy it cheaper in tesco,s and they,ll still be there a year down the line?
Agree wholly - but I was responding back to the post made by Omen666. If you were buying from DSG at >£100 then the point I was making is that there wouldn't be an issue buying products from them at that level. Above that and stick it on the credit card.0 -
Well I aint a fan of Comet. The other week reserved a 22" LCD tv to pick up in store. Paid cash and then no tv was available.
Told to come back in a few days time. Given a TV found out it was ex display with missing remote, cables etc. Had to make another journey no apology offered at all.And Comet's staff are miles nicer and their stores seem to be more welcoming. That's against Curry's. PC World is even worse.0 -
You paid before you got the tv? Rather unusual!0

I did a click and collect. Went to the till showed the transaction number then paid. The guy at the till asked one of the staff to go to back and collect the tv they were suppose to reserve for me, only there computer showed two in stock. Both were ex display. I never got asked if I wanted them but I wont anyhow even if they knocked money off as it was a gift. They then later tried to give me a ex display model when I went back even though I was assured that new stock would come the day I was told to go back and I got that confirmed by Comet HQ before setting off a few days later
Basically there click and collect has a flaw in it, as they are meant to only have one ex display but for some reason they had two and it was only flagged as in stock not new, this is what Comet HQ told meYou paid before you got the tv? Rather unusual!0 -
I'm sure it does but thats not my experience when it comes to Currys/Currys Digital and PC World staff! Clueless the lot of them!0

I think apart from the obvious concern we should have for the staff of these stores that have gone or going under. The other issue we should think about is the lack of competition as stores close, look back to TEMPO, KETTS, RUMBELOWS, CURRYS, LASKY all of which disappeared as independent chains over the years. Only the supermarkets replaced them, and that cannot be good for the public once the Credit Crunch ends, we will be at the mercy of a few in some sectors.
Let's hope those staff at Woolies, Adams, Zavvi, USC, etc find decent jobs soon.My Mind wanders, if found please return.0 -

Rumbelows - what a blast from the past! These are my thoughts and no one else's, so like any public forum advice - check it out before entering into contracts or spending your hard earned cash!
I don't know everything, however I do try to point people in the right direction but at the end of the day you can only ever help yourself!0
