I dont buy from Currys unless the goods are cheaper, the last two items a Fridge freezer and a LCD tv were much cheaper else where.

DSG need to shrink, in many edge of town places theres a PC World and a Curry's next to each other, they need to create one store that has everything.
We all know how bad knowledge of products from staff members is in PC World and a lot of the stock could just as easily go into Currys so if they consolidated that'd solve some issues.
true they know very little about what there selling and try and treat everyone as if there stupid and get them to buy dearer products,i bought my last pc from dell online and will continue to do so when i need a pc/laptop

Yep - but look at M&S. Perhaps not quite as bad, but their share price is falling similarly. Virtually all companies share prices are not as good as they could be.

I would wager heavily that there is 1 other retailer much more well known that is struggling to get credit and insurance.

So far, Woolies (badly run - no definitive business plan), Adams (badly run, too niche), Pier (well run, considered pricey and too niche) have gone under. If anyone was betting which stores would struggle, you'd have money on the "big Ticket" items - the expensive TV's, sofas etc... which would be the stores struggling. Yet it seems that this is not the case. I would suggest that as the DSG group do white goods, through to games consoles, to the latest technology, they are well enough diversified to be able to trade on.

Yes - they may have to close the unprofitable stores, but 10 years ago, Arcadia went through "Brandmax", shutting the underperforming stores and opening up stores in better locations. DSG may have to do something similar, but I guarantee they'll be trading in a year.

All these people that disagree that DSG or FSGi are going under and say we are scaremongering, then pit your money where your mouth is and purchase several things from them under £100 on your cards.

Your answer would be heck no........And to the rest that said I need to substantiate my brief claims earlier, listen I am more concerned about my missus being paid than your shabby posts

Also they are the biggest conning company I know with over inflated pruces no experienced staff inclusive of my OH and prey on peoples IT iliteracy and naiveity

Firstly - what items do I currently need? A new kettle. Well I'd buy that from DSG certainly, for cash. If it goes wrong after 6 months, I would either seek the manufacturer or go to the store if still trading.

There is nothing under £100 I'd be worried about buying from them that I could not at some future stage go direct to the manufacturer if I had an issue.

There are very few items that I could not buy from them and collect instore - so it's not as if I'd hand over £100 and have to wait for delivery.

And yet, no substantial proof of DSG's problems.

that means nothing, another prime example(of shares taking a massive dive anyway)is travis perkins, probably the building industry was the 1st to be hit,and although more retail is gonig under travis perkins shares dropped from £24 a share in july 07 to £2.10 in oct08,many would of said they were going under, but they looked to have riden the storm and shares have started increasing slowly,i think there £3.50+ now and the banks still lending to them, and there still spending ££millions on expansions albeit not there own brand,so stock market reports dont always tell the truth where compnaies are concerned,i think dsg may have to blend a few companies together streamline so to speak but they,ll be ok

I think this is part of the problem as to why these companies are going down.
consumer choice is greater than its ever been with supermarkets that used to specialise in food now selling everything from milk to insurance.

we also live in a throw away society and the demand is higher than its ever been because people want more and the latest of everything.

I think apollo 2000 is likely to go before dsg, we have an apollo 2000 and a currys on the same retail estate and a comet and a local electrical appliance store 10 minutes away,

And Comet's staff are miles nicer and their stores seem to be more welcoming. That's against Curry's. PC World is even worse.
