The scaremongering idiots in this thread are the same degenerates who cause this whole mess in the first place with their rumours and speculation.
If no one buys from a retailer then it will be guaranteed to go under, jobs will be lost and the problem snowballs.
The concept is that we all need to help out0 -
good article on returning unwanted gifts or pressies

odd thread...
no foundation to these "rumours" on the news sites, unlike Woolworths before it went, but of "hearsay" but no hard facts
if I go in Pcworld , pick up the item and pay for it , then walk out with it, regardless of "if" they went bust my item is still covered by the maker .... so cannot see what the concerns are

Large electronics are one of the things I wouldn't usually buy from an online retailer. Small things, yes, but at least with a large electronics store you can walk in and kick up a stink if things go really badly wrong. As opposed to having to mess about waiting for a courier to pick up the item.
True - but it's the cost of the DSG group and their store overheads with stores you can go into vs the cheaper cost of online retailing. I personally agree with you, but certainly many people would buy a Fridge onlineif it was £50 cheaper.
And to be fair, whether you buy instore or online, they've still got to come and deliver/collect your larger electrical items...0 -
I cant see DSG overall going bust, but they are having a bit of a wobble, & have been for a few years now.
I believe this is down to most of their management just being incompetent.
eg they opened a Dixons XL in the Bullring when it was new, large range of good stuff over 2 floors, witht the IT stuff at the back, all quite well organised.
few years ago i needed to replace my portable cd player, went in, & all they had on a wide rack was their own brand stuff. so i didnt buy, & went elsewhere.
they have since become a Currys Digital (?!), with a section selling tools, another bit selling film memorabilia etc (not core products for them surely!)0 -

I doubt DSGI group will fail they may shut some shops and cut costs but they have a lot of fingers in different pies across Europe, whilst that doesn't give 100% guarantee they are better placed that most. Woolies was different big company lost its way years ago0

How about a reasoned comment as to why you believe this to be true? I see no reason whatsoever nor have heard anything suggesting they are in trouble. Perhaps you'd be so kind as to share your expert knowledge?0 -
They cant its just speculation it aint based on any fact0

Exactly BargainGalore.
For example with the Pier, their outlet store by the warehouse closed some weeks earlier as they chose not to renew the lease I believe, even though it was a money spinner. Usually there is a warning or pre-cursor to a company going under. Where is this with the DSG group? There isn't one.0
