fantastic raph, and glad you had a great weekend in beautiful Brighton.
That spa day sounds lovely Lesey. Wow, a 10k : when is it? I hope it has the desired effect:D
Well, weigh in.... yup, I lost ...drumrollllll....1/2 a lb:D . Not exactly stunning in 2 weeks, but I came down with my chest infection just after I joined and I always need to eat and eat when I have a lurghy, so it was a result in a way that I stopped the upward spiral. So as for this week: must try harder.I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -

I've been thinking of getting some proper running shoes, my trainers are okay for the minute but all this use is wearing them out (my trainers used to last me a year, now they sometimes don't last 3 months!!)
How much did they set you back?Debt Free as of 17/01/2009 Turtle Power!!

I looked at quite a few, and one of the assistants was a runner (making it sound like I am too which is SO not true lol) and said she had these and they were the comfiest trainers she had ever had.
Then a guy assistant came along and said they get asked for these by name, and that's the only ones that do. There were some that had been £95 down the £45 but I tried one on each foot and wandered around looking at T shirts and the Pegasus felt far and away the better ones. I am going to the gym tomorrow night so will report back.

Well done losers! Especially amazing Raph on the fish and chip diet
. Maybe your body is so used to losing weight now it just does it automatically?
Please BB put me down for a 2.75lb loss I'm really happy - three unavoidable lunches out did not, for once, lead to totally going off the rails.
Hello Vix.A usual face here. Are you going to publish your dissertation on here when it's finished? As we all did your survey (how long ago was that?) and we've been [STRIKE]moaning at you to get on with it [/STRIKE] encouraging you every step of the way I think we should get to see the finished article.

Hello! Just checking in to say hello again. I managed 45 mins jogging this morning WITHOUT stopping to walk, so am really pleased. I blitzed the house cleaning all afternoon, so am rather knackered now! Raphael, you mentioned getting running shoes versus trainers - I know the question wasn't directed at me but if you are a runner I totally recommend getting proper running shoes fitted and having your gait analysed at a speicialised running shop. It's done wonders for my shin splints, although I'm not a runner - I'm still only a plodder!
Simbalou, from the eating side of things I can't really help but if you can't (or don't want to) join a gym, I can suggest another option. I would never have thought of it at all. My sister - who is a personal trainer - it DOESN'T run in the family - gave me a kit for Christmas that includes a skipping rope and some resistance bands. They are like stretchy bands that you pull and can do various exercises similar to the effect you would get from using weights in a gym. OH and I are having a lot of fun with them and you don't even need to drag yourself out of the house - I use them on the living room floor. Then the skipping rope provides a good form of cardio. I have only tried it once so far, but again I found it fun. There are lots of options, these are only suggestions. If you are a person who prefers to exercise with others, maybe you could find a local class such as aerobics or martial arts or even a rambling group or whatever tickles your fancy. Just trying something new has given me new motivation and it could work for you, too.0
