Hi - sorry I've been awol - not had chance to read all the posts properly but hope everyone is doing OK.
We had a night away at a hotel on Sunday as it was the Spa members dinner, so on Monday we had a day off work which felt very naughty! We had a massage, and I went swimming and to the gym so HHE/A done!
Now - I am in shock as I have just entered the Jane Tomlinson 10k which is happening for the first time in York this year!!!!! I have done the 5k race for life a few times, but 10k is a new thing for me!!! Could this be classed as a motivation so I don't have to carry more weight round with me that I absolutely have to!!!
    More later

I'm really struggling at the moment. I only lost a pound last week and this week my weight seems to be going up! I walk absolutely everywhere, I work 4 miles to and from work 3 times a week. I've cut out most of my snacking (I'm only human after all!) The food I eat has all been the Slimming world green days plan (I lost loads with them before) but it just doesn't seem to be having any effect this time round.

I wanted to join the gym but my husbands hours are being reduced so I don't want to commit to that just in case and I really don't know what to do! I've got wii fit and the dance mat but after using it daily for 3 months that seems to be losing it's effect on me too.

Can anyone give me some ideas please?!! Before I throw in the towel and settle into mummy plumpness forever!

  • Hi Simbalou, I can't help as far as SW green days goes, but I would suggest keeping a food diary - possibly with portion sizes if you can. My weight control is based on calorie counting and I weigh and measure food to make sure that my portions don't increase in size. Someone with SW experience might pop on later and be able to help you.

Welcome back Lesley, glad you had a good time.

    BB hope it went well.

Victory, I tried the step once and got totally confused - I really don't know my left foot from my right foot. Successfully completed the Bubble Balance last night - after about 18 failures :o

Marion, my husband bought a mountain bike a few years ago and promptly changed the streamlined saddle for an old fashioned sprung one (the type with the huge springs) - it looks really weird/funny/etc but he swears by it.

Buttonmoons - not sure if it is representative of dress size but I've lost 3.5 stone and have dropped more than 3 dress sizes (I say 'more than' cos I've gone from 'tight' where I was about to go up to the next size to 'loose' where I am now comfortable in my current size)

Simbalou, i'm not sure about the food side of things, but i'm sure someone will be along soon to help you with that. As for the exercise do you have any fitness DVD's or something like that, maybe you can do them for a bit some can be pretty tough going. You could also try adding weights while using Wii fit, even a tin of beans in each hand would help. Not sure if its possible but how about jogging/running to work instead of walking.

Fitorburst, good luck on your 10k run, sounds like good enough motivation to me :T

Victory, well done on getting the bronze pig :T

HHA @ 7.30pm for me, if anyone would like to join in you're more than welcome.

Hi all, got back from my weekend away to Brighton last night. Fry-ups and fish & chips all weekend :p
Weighed in a day late today (as of course I didn't take my scales with me) and somehow I have lost 3.1 lbs!
No idea how! But very pleased! Must have been all the long walks on the beach, and dancing the night away in the clubs!

I'm just 1.5 lbs away from the top end of my 'ideal weight', and just 8.5 lbs away from my target!:D
