thanks for the concern vixstar- i'm going to do it a few weeks to kickstart and also get me into eating less - i'm a gorger so i need to train my body to be content with less, and cereal has worked out for me in the past. Plus it's easy and cheap, the only faff is that work have horrid uht milk in the coffee machine so i havet o take my own in a jar. Well yesterdays meal plan was meant to be:
breakfast CN cornflakes and glass of oj
lunch - sandwich and an apple
snack - pate (WI night); 1 cup soup
tea - cocopops and glass of tomato juice
and it turned out to be
breakfast CN cornflakes and glass of oj
sampling for work - 2 spoons of fruit crumble and and about 6 spoons of chocolate angel delight
lunch - sandwich and an apple - hummus, fet and pinenuts mmmmm
snack - 2 pate crackers, small piece of cheese(WI night); malteser bunny
tea - dry cn cornflakes and glass of tomato juice
but i did have a 2 hour walk around the warehouse so that offset any naughtiness i think.
todays plan is
CN cornflakes and milk
cocopops and milk; apple
cup soup snack
chicken savoury rice padded out with peas and sweetcorn and glass of tomato juice. IF I feel like i need it i might add a vegeburger

Morning folks!
Is anyone else struggling? I'm fine during the day but at night time, I just want to stuff my face - with anything! I'm not sure if I'm not eating enough during the day, but those calories websites seem like such a faff and how exactly do you work out how many calories is in HM soup!!
I resisted last night, and I feel fine this morning, but I just can't stop thinking about food food food, and I never go to my bed early otherwise I'm up FAR too early the next day.

Well there I was at 7am with a couple of fellas waiting for the spin class - no show by the instructor
Apparently she is very reliable so I'm hoping she's okay. Nearly went straight back home but thought - don't be daft and stayed for a gym session.
I did 25 calories on the treadmill (walking to warm up), 125 calories on the cross trainer - should help the bingo wings, 100 calories on a cycle and 50 calories on the rower - should also help with upper body strength (I am a bit feeble - although I do have 'powerful legs') - so I'm 300 calories in credit - not sure whether to blow it or bank it :rotfl:

Hi Buttons,
I seem to have the same problem sometimes. I have started to go to bed earlier, because I know late night is my devilish snacking time, even though I'm a night owl, and prefer later nights.
My way of dealing with the cravings is to first of all make myself a hot drink whenever I feel the craving start. Yes, some days I do end up feeling like a water balloon, but it does do the trick. I then make myself wait 30 minutes to decide whether I'm going to give in, and then actually do make a considered decision. So, for example, I have these inner conversations along the lines of: if I allow myself to have a snack what will it be? I know I'd love some biscuits or a large chunk of bread, but what will I allow myself? Then I decide it'll be fat free yogurt & some fruit, IF I decide I need something. Often I just know I'm having a weak moment, and I'm beggered if I'll let my usual weakness to put me back again, because that's what usually happens. I also have stocks in the cupboards of things I can snack on, so I buy myself Nairns oat biscuits (my fave is the mixed berries flavour). With a hot drink & only 43 cals each, I find just 1 will fend off any hunger pangs. It's those moments of weakness during a week that will undo my hard work the rest of the week, and I'll end up with not losing more weight, and it'll have been a wasted week.
I've been sat for 2wks now with a box of Thorntons chocolates sat about 2ft from me - I am daring them to tempt me! My neighbour gave me a large box of dairy milk for clearing her snow recently, and I have left them sealed. I refuse to be lured into bad ways. I've now decided to give up chocolates/sweets for lent (altho' I've not really had any since new year), as a way to reaffirm my determination.
I use the Foodfocus website to chart my food, and I use the 'create meals' part to put in homemade recipes. I've had to do it for h/m bread, bolognese, lasagne, soup, stews, breakfasts, etc. You do it by searching for each ingredients, adding it to the 'meal' in whatever quantities you used. It adds everything up, and gives an overall value for it all (so if it weighs 2kg in total, that's the calorie value based on 2kg). You can then get it to calculate smaller quantities by manually entering it in 'enter foods'.
Once you've added everything, it gives you an overall calorie/grams/protein/carb/fat/fibre content (sometimes I have to guess the fibre) and you then you input those amounts into 'enter foods'. Note the totals down on a scrap of paper, because you'll have to open a new page online to enter them.
Eg. My beef stew last week was:
1889grams 1805 cals 109 carbs 47g fat 238g protein overall
I input that into 'enter foods', and guessed the fibre. The ingredients I put into the 'create meals' were: beef, parsnip, swede, onion, mushrooms, potato, packet of schwartz stew mix, stock cube, etc.
It's a bit of a faff to begin with, but I've found it a godsend to work out what my portion size should then be once a meal is made. I had my stew without the extra mashed potato the rest of the family had.
I now know exactly how many calories I've consumed if I allow myself a piece of h/m bread, and I stick to the portion sizes I've calculated on my h/m porridge, etc.
Try having smaller meal portions, but work snacks into your daily allowance, so you don't feel you're missing out, and make those snacks healthy options. I have found that keeping my carbs lower/complex has helped to reduce my cravings too. I hope that helps (and made any sense!:rotfl: )One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing

FFM, well done on staying at the gym instead of going home :j
Also i'd like to apologise for the "big fat men" comment i didn't mean that in a mean sense or anything. I watch lots of martial arts films and the people in steam rooms are always like sumo wrestlers. So if anyone took offense, really sorry, don't know if anyone has but i feel better for saying itCross Stitch Cafe Member No1WIP: Cross Stitch: - Crochet:0
