congrats, saver. ha, long name there :p

Does anyone find volunteering hard to achieve? Its almost as bad as giving blood! Alot of the volunteering adverts are so out of date you dont really know what to apply for or not... You would have thought that volunteering opportunities would be easier to come by.

I remember going to give blood years ago and because my veins are not easy to find immediately they gave up!!! Obviously weren't that desperate for my lovely A negative. Are they more creative nowadays? When I had a sedative in the dentist they used a vein by my knuckle.

Yes ive given up giving blood cos they can never find my vein, and yet at the hospital they told me to drink plenty of water and keep my arm warm.......but not the blood service !

Evening all, well done on all the losses, I've been noting them down and trying not to get too confused with the chart lol.
BB - I'm assuming I put 0.0 for a STS yes?? Also will you be around tomorrow for when I need to post it just incase, I'll be posting it around 8pm. Or can do earlier if people want? (I'm not in work til 10pm so pretty much free all evening)

  • Hi Raph - yes, a 0.0 for a sts.
I'm out tomorrow evening, but in in the afternoon. If you are around then, why not try and do it then and hopefully post it. Once you know it 'works', then quickly delete the post and redo it in the evening (with any late poster additions)?
Granny was right - when I first did it I needed much help from OH but once you know how to do it ,it is really easy.
Are you around at 3pm coz I can make sure I am.

Bit wiped this evening peeps but will be back to chat tomorrow.

But granny - you are making me ridiculously happy with your latest run of losses:D :T :A .
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once

When my father had his car crash he lost alot of blood and mum and dad said they wished they could have donated but cant cos of their medication..

anyway i have a phobia of giving blood so i thought if matt signed up to do it i could watch, cure myself and give too. So we signed matt up, and went along to the local blood thingy that was going on. It was soooooooo busy they said we would have to wait 2 hours, and even then its not guarenteed. We also had to pay for car parking. Couple of weeks later we got a thing through the post that gets you exempt from car parking and all this stuff. I dunno, i just thought for something that is so required they dont organise it well at all, and if it is soo busy that you cant donate then surely that puts people off and they should do more blood donor events?

I might suggest a vein in the knuckle when if i have to anything in the corner of my arm again. I think its why i will avoid doctors at all costs!!

I'm generally ok with spreadsheets (I love them actually as I'm pants with maths but good at working out formulae so I can make them do the hard work :p) I think I've worked out what was confusing me...I was putting in the losses as plus figures, not minuses
I can certainly be around at 3, so I'll give it a go then with what I've got :) thanks

I used to give blood as mine is quite rare ( O neg) but I found it so difficult to find a place to give it. The last time I skipped lunch break at work to dash down the road to the church where they were set up and they wouldn't take it because they were all on their lunch break at the same time!
