Umm... no (just looks like the stores have been trashed)0 -
30th for ours (Clevedon), but there is really little of any interest left
Most people walk out empty handed. The staff are jolly though, I know that most of them have already secured work elsewhere

ours is in 3 days and everything is atleast 50% off, when i went in at half 8 ths morning one girl was serving while the others did a trolley dash. they had only just found out it was everything 50% or over!!! One sa told another to buy as many games as possible and ebay them and not tell anyone!
I got zelda, warioland, bratz for the wii for £40 and then a disney sleeping beauty costume for £4, crayola colour blast for £2 and peter pan for £5:xmastree: :rudolf: :xmastree:0 -
My local closes on 30th, not good!! Went in today and the staff were laughing and joking, still smiling. The manager spotted one of the team eating a sweet that had fallen out of a split bag and laughing he said 'that's it, your sacked!!'
Managed to get some bargains today
Monopoly here and now - down from £24.99 to £7.49
Operation - from £9.99 to £2.99
Rubix Cube - from £9.99 to £2.99
Hannah Montana Uno - from ? to £1.20
all Christmas cards down to 25p a pack
I did go quite early this morning and went back this afternoon with my daughter, by which time most of the games had gone!! Daughter did buy a pair of sunglasses for 10p! (might need to wait a while to wear them, lol'0 -
forgot to mention, they were also selling sweets by the box!! £4 for a box of 24 packs of various sweets, boxes of normal size bags of M&M's for £5 and some other boxes of sweets for £8
Ok if you have a sweet tooth!0 -
My local branch can't close soon enough. Dreadful place.0

I went into woolies today - closes on the 27th.
Everything has 50% off.
Not a lot left, i felt a bit sad walking round. The staff had such high spirits though, so i popped a few pounds in the staff bonus bucket at the till.
Managed to get:
24 bottles of oasis for £6.00
12 big bottles of water for £3.00
Case of cadbury fingers for £3.00
They are selling loads of by the case.
Pick and mix £2.50 (50% off) My son wanted some so i told him to fill his bag. Although there wasnt much of a selection left.
School uniform 60% off, so got 4 pairs of trousers and shorts and a few jumpers for the next year.
Apart from that all my store was selling was bread bins, fans, and a few annabell and brats dolls. Hardly any cd's, dvd's etc left.
It was absolutely chocca in woolies, which was rare to see, as i have never seen more than 6 people in there at any one time, today there were at least 100.
If only woolies had seen that amount of customers on any normal day then maybe they wouldnt be in this situation. But it will leave a big gap on every high street now. I wonder what, if anything will fill its place.
So i'd just like to say ''good luck'' to all the woolies staff and i wish them all the best in the world in finding new jobs and above all a very merry xmas.:TIs thankful to those who have shared their :T
:T fortune with those less fortunate :T
:T than themselves - you know who you are!:T0 -
My local one closes on Jan 5th - they had the up to 70% off posters in the window today. Had a look but came out empty handed. There were literally hundreds of packs of girls t-shirts in one part of the store - think it was 3 t-shirts for around £1.40.0

are they accepting returns or exchanges? xx:jHas saved so much money since joining this forum, thanks to all you kind people out there :j0

Its very sad,but i`d just like to thank all the staff and wish them well for the future, many years ago i worked for a company that supplied greeting cards to woolies and they were a great company to do business with.0
