Oh yeh they don't have any stock of consoles....

Any ideas how many days prior to closing the producst become at least 50% off rather than the 30%? Thanks...

Probably won't be many consoles around the country as Woolies will be able to sell them on the wholesale market for more.

With regard to what gets what discount & when - our store is open til the 5th but I bought a Roboraptor for around 25% of the RRP. It was already stickered at half price, then got 40% off in the closing down sale.

I am guessing it depends on whats left in each store - if they have 500 pyrex dishes then they're going to need to discount those heavily to shift them in less than a fortnight. If they have 1 Bratz doll - 10% should do.
Life should be a little nuts; otherwise it's just a bunch of Thursdays strung together.
  • Going now - not expecting much left tho'
I didn't do it, nobody saw me do it, you can't prove a thing! ;)

I went to the Metro Centre - Gateshead and was there when they opened up at 9.30.

Nothing worth having at all, quite a lot of empty shelves.

got an activity tin with pens, stickers, paper etc for 35p from £4.99
scooby doo bowl, spoon and tumbler set for 70p
    lunar jim book for 10p
cadburys choc fingers 2 pack for 70p.
  • Hi,

My first post in the forums.

I went to Cirencester woolies this afternoon.

    Got an xbox360 controller £16.49
A Rock band instrument set for half price 49.99 from £100.00
Plus some kids clothes with 60% off.

I checked and all the games were 50% off - Everthing I bought had at least 50% off even the chocolate twirl my wife bought.

They had some controllers left, Guitar hero III with guitar for PS3. The stickers on the games said 20% but everything was 50%.

My daughter brought a lump to my throat, she's 15 and said that she was sad she would never be able to take her kiddies into a woolies to buy sweeties like I used to take her, sniff, she asked me to take a photo of her outside the Eltham store so she could show her kids one day, poignant stuff.
    :p
