Not all the dates above are correct as some stores have remained open longer. However, does anyone know when the Branch at Shields Road, byler (Newcastle upon tyne) is closing? Feel sorry for all the staff and wish them well.
If you mean the one on the new(ish) shopping park thing off the Fossway then it closed today. Was already closed at half one when I got there - apparently someone went in and made them an offer for everything that was left so they closed.
Anyone know what the Blyth, Ashington or Redcar stores are like? Much stock left? Worth a visit?0 -
we went past ashington a few days ago and it didnt look like there was alot left:xmastree: :rudolf: :xmastree:0

The Big W in Edinburgh still has a few bits and pieces left but if I were you, I'd wait until Tuesday for the "real" bargains to kick in. Still only 50% off most of the good toys and Dvds etc but 70% off what's left of the kids clothing. Hardly any decent clothes left though.
I'd wait till everything goes to about 80% off etc.:j 2009 - 5 x Chocs, Body Lotion, 8 x Books, Razor, eyeliner, Dog Lead, Designer Booties, Liz Earle Cream & perfume, T-Shirt, Vitamins, X Box 360game, 2 x Cookbooks, Dog Food, Edin Fest Firework tickets, Photoshop, 7 DVD's, Beer, Lippy, Bowl, Darts Shirt!, Gladiators toy, Smoothie win, Pombear set, £5 voucher, Organix Pack, Foundation:j0 -

I know this isnt a bargain but just come across this video someone made on Facebook about our local Woolworths closing, it makes you think about those people losing their jobs and saying goodbye to Woolworths.........

That is actually a really sad and touching video."...Our greatest fear is not that we are inadequate,
but that we are powerful beyond measure".

Though I think the fallacy of the closing text realy sums it all up "You were worth it......"0 -

I believe Byker was set to close on the 27th so probably the 28th they closed. I know the one in the metro centre is now closed and boarded up!Raising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0
