does anyone know if all stores have been kept open for an extra day - I was thinking about going into Coventry tomorrow, but didn't want a wasted journey? is it the town centre branch that's shutting on the 3rd? any info would be appreciated.

It was the last day at Shaftesbury Woolworths today - I picked up £25 worth of stuff (mostly kids clothes) for £7. Might go and do the same again in Blandford cos that one is closing on the 5th.
Its a real shame - I remember there used to be a deli counter in woolworths and you could get your cheese and bacon in there. I also remember buying half penny sweets in there. It (was) a really handy shop to have in towns where its 20 miles to the nearest shopping centre/clothes shop. bye bye Woolies. x

I was in the Sheldon branch this morning - loads of books and CD's left. Bought two pink backpacks for 80p each, some sweets with 60% off and my bargain of the day was a power rangers drinking bottle (no price on it) which went through the till at 50p then it took 60% off making it 20p (wish there had been more at that price).

Went into the Louth branch today and got 6 pairs of girls jeans £1 and 10 pairs of girls leggings £1, kids spend most of their time bouncing around on the trampoline & riding round the muddy garden on their bikes so these will save the kids ruining all the new clothes i got them in the next sale :T

Very disappointed with what was left in the Swindon store yesterday. Nothing that really took my fancy. Couldn't believe how empty it was. Very sad

went to the leeds store this morning. very little left but i did get the vicar of dibley box set, a dvd of Assassin (one of my favourite films) and a couple of dozen pink lightbulbs for a total of £12. I couldn't be bothered to hang around til just before closing time. It wasn't busy there at all.

I wonder if the stores which close on tuesday will have more stock in. I presume they will receive anything left over from the other stores.

Had a field day in my local.

Got loads of Blu Rays including Lost S4 for for £13 and Godfather Trilogy for £9. All others for £4. :j

All cd's were reduced to £1 (including multi disc sets), so got all recent releases for me and the missus. Got Scissor Sisters limited edition Tah Dah for £1 (it's £17 on Amazon).

Staff were in decent spirit. Was sad to see my local being taken apart as I used to go in their as a kid.

Is every shop closing a day later? My local (Prescot) is listed as 2nd Jan but was wondering if it would still be open today. Have phoned and no answer but that doesn't mean anything!

mine was suppose 2 shut yesterday but was still open 2day the re probably 2 busy 2 answer phone unless they cant be bothered dont think anyone will sack them lol
