Wouldn't you be misrable if you were being made redundant?

Called in to the Cannock branch today and although the shop looked like a giant fly trap with brown parcel tape cordening off unused empty isles i did manage to get 3 sd cards for camera at 50p, youngest son insisted on the crazy frog dbl cd @ 50p and a couple of half price ps2 games.

Had galvanised buckets (for use as plant pots in garden) reduced to 50p in Tamworth store earlier in the week and picked up a few posters that were supposedly 70% off but went through at 20p each.

As previously mentioned any remaining stock is either broken tat no one will purchase or hanging on for the fill your basket for a quid deal to even consider purchasing it.

sidcup local is now pretty much full of tat, lots of sweets books and girls school uniforms left, few dvds and cd's, closes tomorrow and has 60% off and 0% of clothing only

I was in Sidcup today and the staff were really nice and quite upbeat considering what they are having to put up with. In the short space of time that I was there there was a man being aggro with one of the staff.

As for Bargains I got a Singstar PS3 disc for under £10 and Meet The Robinsons DVD for £1!

I found that items were scanning cheaper than marked and also that the staff were reducing them at the tillpoint too if people were being polite.

Hi there! I'm just back from Big W and although there is still quite alot of stock considering, it's still all 50% off or 70% of kids wear (what's left of it) and Xmas stock. I would probably wait until they reduced everything again before popping along.

In saying that, I just got 2 bottles of Factor 40 Baby No-Ad Winnie The Pooh suncream for only 84p a bottle! I also got 2 cans of Factor 30 Baby No-Ad Disney Spray suncream for the same price. Also, a 500ml bottle of Factor 8 No-Ad cream for 50p! Very useful for our Honeymoon in June!

They also have a deal on their Greetings Cards, 4 for £1 - great deal although you do have to rake for the envelopes.

    Hope this helps!
Thanks I might take a wander up on Sunday
Finally, I can see you crystal clear

i went to my local woolies today which is closing tomorrow. what a sad sight it was. the local businesses who have bought all the shelving were ripping everything off the walls leaving bare brick. the staff were clearly upset and didn't care any more. all dvds without boxes were £1. i have never seen so many vultures. people were arguing and fighting over these boxes of new and old dvds. i'm usually obssessed with money saving and getting bargains but the sight had such an effect on me i had to walk out.
so many people have lost their jobs from woolies closing including several friends. i couldn't be one of those vultures arguing over a £1 dvd.

There is a PDF file here with closing dates of all stores but bare in mind that these dates have now been extended by an extra day.

What is the best time to go to woolworths tomorrow as ours closes tomorrow.

  • Judging by the other stores on closing day should be 70% at opening, 80% about 1 o'clock and 90% at about 3 o'clock so it's up to you when you want to jump in without missing everything really.

Further to my post about the Peterlee store today I managed to grab:
    Nelly Furtado - Loose
    Danmien Rice - 9
Corinne Bailey Rae - Corrine Bailey Rae
Avril Lavinge - The Best Damn Thing
Fall Out Boy - Infinity on High
    Elvis Presley - Collection (2CD)
The Feeling - Join With Us
    Razorlight - Razorlight
Muse - Black Holes & Revelations
Amy McDonald - This is the Life
Kaiser Chiefs - Yours Truly Angry Mob
The Hoosiers - Trick to Life
    P ussycat Dolls - PCD
The Kooks - Inside In Inside Out
    Will Young - Keep On
    Spice Girls - Greatest Hits
    RnB Classics - Various (4CD)
    Absolute Easy - Various
    Classic Christmas Carols - Various
High School Musical - The Concert

All for 50p each so to walk away with all that for £10 I was more than happy! Also got Batman Begins and Dodgeball for 50p each yesterday at Peterlee too so I've been lucky with the stores around here this week for sure.
