Burnley closes begining of next week on the 6th.

I think you'll find that it's the 5th, all stores will be closed no later than the 5th.

I made a trip up to Skipton at 3:30pm or so today, far from my local store and wasn't worth the travel thinking about it - Very little left but 90% off.

Alexandra X Factor album for 39p!

The best thing was they were selling off all the display DVD / DS / PSP cases etc full trayfuls for a quid. So 60 odd cases!

Spoke to the staff in Bracknell store today and they are closing Tuesday 6th. They had expected it to be the 5th, but have been advised it will be 6th.

Went on the way home from work at 3pm and there was 90% off then but not a lot left really. They were selling posters off at 10p each so got a few decent ones eg Spiderman, Tomb Raider, Playboy Bunny for neices & nephews. School clothes with a sign up saying 50p each but went through at 20p on the till. Thats about all that was left though. Its a shame cos I've been going there since I got married and bought all the kids stuff from there till they reached their teens. Hope they put a decent shop there-not another charity/pound shop!

Went to the Portrack Big W today and grabbed a few bits but it was all a bit mad. 70% off stuff when I was there which would obviously have gone down later in the day but they had tonnes of Chart CDs and DVDs left including a few box sets like Lost and CSI and loads of kids toys left.

I grabbed a few CD's for between 50p and £1.50 and a couple of DVD's as well and got Bully for the PS2 for £3.00 so more good Woolies buys for me after my experience in the Hartlepool store at the weekend.
  • My local store closed today at 4.30pm. All clothes and CDs were reduced to 20p. I got 4 dress up outfits for 80p. The sweets were all reduced to 10p. Polly Pocket Sparklin' Pets were 27p. The staff had organised a karaoke and they were all singing and dancing, they wanted their last day to be fun. It's just sad they're unemployed after today.
You can touch the dust, but please don't write on it

I walked into my local branch of Woolworths in Chester today, and the staff were all sitting cross-legged in a semi circle around a fire singing "kum bi ya".

    It was pretty surreal.
