we went in to christchurch store this morning, got 24 bottles of coke for £5 12 bottles of iron bru for £1.80 and the biggest heaviest bag of pick and mix for £1. we also got some cds for £1 each, sterophonics, mark ronson, and an indie double complication album that mr divadee wanted

The bargain for us was, i was looking at the cards and said to mr divadee i would take them all off them for a fiver, when i heard behind me 'ok then you are on' i jumped out of my skin as the manager was behind me and had started clearing the card displays into a basket for me to have for a fiver :eek: :j

me and my mum are just sorting them out now and i have in total 236 cards!! approx 50ish will be recycled into new cards (as my mum does card making) or chucked so a total 186 approx cards will be used for a fiver.

On the way out i did put £5 in the collection box for the staff, i just felt so bad!!

Just back from my local store which is closing today. It looked like the locusts had been!!!!

Queued for ages and just as I reached the front of the queue someone announced over the tannoy that it was now 90% off everything. :T I got some real bargains...

Mine has closed today. The kids went this morning and got a large cup of pick and mix for 50p, plus daughter got Disney sing it for PS3 for £8ish.

I went this afternoon and the doors were locked!! People were queing to get in, but the manager came to the door and said that was it. They did write a sign that said 'we are now closed, goodbye' aaww i think it's really sad!

I went into the Ely branch which was closing today. The 2 bargains of the day were PS3 games - Rock Band (although no guitar but I'll get that off ebay) for £4.49 and Topspin 3 for £3.69. PLus an assortment of DVDs and CDs. Everything was 90% off but there wasn't a lot left at all.

Very sad, but pleased with my bargains.

Well, ours has finally closed up forever There was still quite a bit of stock left, but it was mostly sweets, drinks and the Worth It crud, I expect all that will be shipped off to Weston or Bristol's stores.

Got a Little Tikes my first digital camera for LO today - 2.99. Bargain!
Loads of stickers etc off spinner stand for 9p packet
Bars of chocolate - 5p.

When into 2 stores today, one mad house, very messy and stuff all in crates and one was so tidy, all remaining stock hung up and displayed like normal. No queue either. They didnt have much left though.

Is this the Plymouth branch you are talking about or the Plymstock one?
I went into the Plymstock one a couple of days ago and it looked like it was on it's last legs but is not due to close until the 5th whereas the Plymouth branch is supposed to be closing on the 2nd.
Was going to go in tommorow but by your post now wondering if it has closed already.

Burnley closes begining of next week on the 6th. The shelves are already quite bare, but did pick up some lovely good quality old fashioned Christmas cards ready for next year. It is so sad it will leave a big hole on the high street, but they just could not compete, when the large supermarkets started selling non food items, clothes.
