    Pork steaks ....

cut them into strips and stir fry them, serve with rice or noodles

cut a pocket into them and stuff them with something (sage and apple? apricots and something? cheese?)

cubed and made into a stroganoff type thing, with onions, mushrooms, paprika and fromage frais / creme fraiche / yog etc served with rice

casserole them with carrots and apple (HB) and other veg of course!

personally, I love them pan fried with tarragon and a splash of white wine, served with a cabbage/bacon side dish.

do any of these inspire you?!

.. its adapted from a nigel slater idea (ie I have dispensed with huge amounts of butter :rotfl:) but essentially, colour the meat both sides, then add some fresh tarragon and a small glass of wine, cover the frying pan and simmer for about 5 ish mins until the pork is cooked through.

remove the pork to rest, remove the lid, turn up the heat and reduce the wine til you get a couple of spoonfuls - use this as a sauce.

In another pan, fry off some chopped bacon until done, then add shredded cabbage (a dark one like january king or savoy), toss it about for a moment, add a splash of water to create some steam, cover and it will be ready in about 3 mins.

Awww that sounds delicious I am going to give that a try thanks so much x

I'm just about to leave for my weigh in and not confident at all. I have been really struggling recently and gaining not losing. I'm not a very good cook and i'm lacking inspiration and motivation for meals. I can't even meal plan at the moment I just seem to have a mind blank :(
I'm definitely going to try harder this week. Is there a thread with recipes on here that might help?

Great Ditsy! You already know the plan, so we will be here to pick up any changes or mistakes ... and to support / cheer / kick up the bum / whatever you need :D

We love reading daily menus - they give us all ideas ..

So on that note, today I have eaten:

green day (with a focus on higher fibre foods)

B 0% greek yog and strawberries and blackberries. A passion fruit (yum!). tea (milk HA)

L spicy sweet potato soup with cannelini beans. large slice of bread pudding (HB + 3syns)

D basmati rice bean burgers (which include 25g cheese HA) with SW chips, peas and sweetcorn.

I need another B choice, so I might go wild and fry my burgers in oil (HB)!!!

I am also planning a G&T tonight (2.5) and I'm looking forward to it :D

If you go to post 3 on this thread (page 1), I have a lengthy post which also includes a link to the recipe thread. It is't really kept up to date though, but might provide a few ideas.

Most of the recipes are 'during' the main thread (like I have added two on this page alone) - if you see something you like you would be best to cut and paste it and save it onto your own computer (or print it!), or you may never find it again:rotfl:
