:D In contrast to the above post, here is your connundram of the day!

Over the past week, I have spent a lot of time sorting and getting organised including sorting out 5 bags of clothese for the charity shop!

My food cupboards are next - i want to have my own sw cupboard as mentioned above so need to rearrange things.

Unfortunately over the months, I seem to have stockpiled quite a bit of food in my cupboards that isnt sw friendly. to give you an example, I have 3 tins of heinz soup, 2 of which are 17.5 syns each!

No-one other than me will eat them so...

    (a) do I give them away? ok not very money saving but out of sight... out of mind ...

    (b) keep them and just enjoy as an occasional treat.....

Your thoughts / suggestions welcomed :D

similarly I have lots of stir fry sauces in the packets which average 10 syns each!! what do i do with these?
  • Morning everyone!

I am hoping I can join in with you all as this week I began SW (not going to class though) and I love the way you are all so supportive toward one another:j

Since my daughter was born 13 months ago I have been flitting between different eating plans including low carb (which worked well but I couldn't sustain) and WeightWatchers. I did Slimming World 10 years ago and loved it, got to target and then over several years and terrible times put it all back on and more:o

Anyway! I'm back! I have a lot to lose (around 8stone if not more) but will be doing half stone challenges. I've known the lovely Judderman for a few years now and hope to get to know you all:j

I started on the plan on Tuesday and as I prefer to have Friday weigh ins have already had my first. 4lb off so far and looking forward to next Friday already:D

    Hugs to all xx

Posted briefly the other day but just want to introduce myself.

I rejoined SW on Wednesday after a break of a couple of years. Tried my best to stick at it at work yesterday. Looked through the Extra Easy book but not sure about trying that as you can only have 1 from A and B.

I work 12. 30hr shifts and we eat with the clients. Last time I did mainly the red days but want to do mainly green this. I also did mix and match.

I wondered if one day could be an extra easy then a green.

My main prority is to read my books and magazine.

My reasons for wanting to lose the weight are health. 2 weddings, Im 60 this year and also retire.

Look forward to getting to know you all.

    Morning all,
I just like to say welldone to all the losers and sts.

Flat Eric you sound very similar to me. Ive also not been able to get back on properly since xmas. But this week was it for me, It just came to me thatt I wanted to do it 100 %. I had thought that i was ready for the last few weeks but kept getting side tracked. ive been 100% since Tue (wi day) Ive been doing alternate red.green and today will be EE. I also gave up on EE all the time as It wasnt strict enough for me. You sound similar and need that control I think you get from red/green etc. I know everyone approaches SW differently but the 'old'plan worked great for me so ill stick to it mostly with the odd EE thrown in.
It sounds to me that you are getting focussed and ready to gt back into it. Before xmas you always had some great meal plans and recipes in your posts. Im sure once you put your mind to it and its the right time for you, you'll be losing and sticking to it again.
Im sorry im waffling, but ive just been dithering around for the last 2 months, half doing the plan and my weight has went up and down, but I am now 6 lbs up on my pre xmas weight!. But I just wasnt focussed enought til now to enjoy the plan again. I wish I had given myself a complete break rather than beating myself up for having too many syns etc.

Flat Eric all those recipe cards and folders sounds like a great idea. Id also give the soup and stirfry sauces away or save them in a box to give for raffle stalls etc.

IMHO, I would give them away. Just like you are giving away old clothes that don't fit, you need to give away old food that doesn't fit with your new way of eating. By passing them on, someone else can use them.

Think - do you *really* want a 17syn tin of soup as a treat, or could you think of other ways to use 17syns?

A stay the same for me at class this week. Not ideal but at least it isnt a gain. I havent been able to get my SW mojo back since xmas but I have been giving it a lot of thought. This is my plan: -

    5. Ive bought a HUGE dinner plate and will be trying success express for the first time ever.

    Have a good day everyone.

What a great list of ideas to keep you on track.

I have done SE, and had a great loss that week - you need to buy LOTS of superfree food just to keep up with SE on a standard sized plate, so start with your normal plate before maxing out on your big plate.

Remember the superfree 2/3 is very filling (although very low cal too), and it takes a while to eat all that veg:rotfl: , so you may find that your standard plate keeps the hunger pangs at bay.
  • I have not been organised for the last few days, and have not had a menu plan set up. I am feeling 'under the weather' can't put my finger on it, but just a bit achey and tired and hugely lacking in general motivation to do anything at all.

Usually I shop twice a week (one of those is to catch the weekly market), and so set a menu ahead for Thursday evening to Sun (shop on the thursday) menu plan Monday to Thursday lunch (shop monday morning), but I have found myself popping to town to 'just get a few bits' and it is costing me a fortune  So, I have jsut sat down and planned food til sunday using what is in the house, plus 'just a few bits' that I shall have to fetch this afternoon :o

Todays plan is EE, I have the taste for curry, so instead have planned a curry day

B as ever, 0% greek plus strawbs and blueberries from the market yesterday.:D tea (milk HA)

L baked bean balti on toast (HB) more tea, probably a muller or a banana

D spicy chickpeas and cumin potatoes (just found this recipe in an old food mag, lets hope it is good!) with some lamb chops (again from the market - yum!)

I hope I can split a bottle of red with DH (12 syns each), so looking forward to this should keep me on the straight and narrow today.:T :A
