OK so the bad news is i put on ...... wait for it, wait for it .... 5.5 lbs :eek::eek:

the good news is my friend from Sw - who has in app 3 months become my best friend - surprised me tonight by taking me to dinner after SW (Birthday treat) - we went to Nandos and had a great time (not withstanding that the food in Nandos, or at least my local one, is cr*p these days :o - apart from the lemon tart which was delicious) - had a fantastic time woo hoo :j:j

  • Went to SW on Tuesday and weighed in with a 2lb gain - not unexpected due to all the eating out during the last week. Trying to be extra careful this week.

A stay the same for me at class this week. Not ideal but at least it isnt a gain. I havent been able to get my SW mojo back since xmas but I have been giving it a lot of thought. This is my plan: -

    1. Ive dug out my coloured index cards. I will note down my menus each day including any ingredients needed, my comments on the menu - was it easy to do? was I still hungry? did I enjoy it etc. If I stick with it for a month, good or bad then I will have a whole month's worth of menus to choose from in the future and if I stick with it for six months, well I am going to have lots of cards. The idea is that even if one evening I have 100 syns, I note it down because then it might help me to see a pattern of how and why I fall off the wagon. so in some respects, my own version of the SAS log.

    2. Im going to do my coloured star board again i.e. stick on my pin board the different stars with different amounts of weight loss on them. As and when I lose a pound or half a pound, I can remove a card and hopefully very soon, I will not have any stars left!!

    3. I have in the past duplicated on the SW magazine because they are so informative that i cant bear to cut them up. So I buy two - one to keep and read through, read the sucess stories time and time again etc and one to cut out all the recipes, weekly menu plans etc and stick in my folder.

    4. I now subscribe to Diet and Fitness. OK it isnt a slimming world magazine but it is very informative not only on product information but with recipes and other useful articles. For example, the new issue (which I am not sure is in the shops yet) has 7 ways with polenta.

    5. Ive bought a HUGE dinner plate and will be trying success express for the first time ever.

    6. Im going out for dinner next week (Thursday) and I must be 110% good from today until then. otherwise I am not allowed to go! so no weekend munchie moments for me!

    7. Im going to route through all my old sw stuff, all those recipes Ive printed from the website etc. try and get everything in order and neatly in folders.

    8. Go back to good old Red and Green and mix to match. Extra Easy didnt work for me because I found it too easy to waiver from the plan, i.e. I would miss my cheese and would begrudge having to syn it. so would still eat it but have my 12 syns on top I also think I was eating more.... I would still have the same amount of jacket chips but instead of having 85g ham, I would have double that or a huge piece of gammon when before I was full eating the old amount!

    9. Have my own designated sw food cupboard where everything contained therein is SW friendly or has a low syn value (duly marked on the product of course).
Once I have eaten my way through my freezers, it will be my intention to have my own freezer drawer as well.

    10. Have SW friendly treats readibly available - plenty of frozen fruit in my freezers, chopped up carrot / pepper sticks in the fridge so that I opt for a free food rather than an alpen bar or other treatsize choc bar.

    11. This isnt my idea but was mentioned by one of the other members. She likens SW to a money box. Some weeks she is extra specially good and is rewarded with a gain. The money box idea is that by following the plan, you are putting something into the money box and although the result might not be forthcoming any time soon, in time to come you will reap the rewards.

    Have a good day everyone.
