theres a new prog on bbc where thin people get to eat mcdonalds to see why they dont become fat ... who wants to join me in ... hurting them lol i eat mcdonalds and i put on weight just standing in the queue thinking about food
They fidget and move more, without realising it!I bet that is the outcome of the show.I saw something similar ages ago where they put these volunteers in cells (nice luxury ones!) and fed them all the same crap to see who and why they would gain weight. They weren't allowed to exercise and they had to eat every bit of food put in front of them. After the trial they had all gained weight but one bloke only gained a tiny bit. When they analyzed the cctv footage of him they noticed that he constantly tapped his fingers, wiggled his toes,or just moved around more than the others. They even showed him on the phone, pacing up and down the whole time he was talking, where as all the others just sat there. The conclusion they reached was that, yes thinner people can have a higher metabolic rate, but it's not 'natural' or God given,it's simply that they subconsciously move more!
I feel sure that this new show will demonstrate what we are constantly told, eat more healthily, take more exercise, and be patient about the results!Weight doesn't go on overnight (though it does seem to go on quicker than it comes off:rolleyes: ) so it won't come off overnight either:p:T:jHalf a stone off, only another 2 to go!:j:T:D;)Cats are truly evil, like women....;):D:p

Week 3 is always a 'dodgy' week for me, my body seems to slow down and put the defences up even if I'm following the plan, but i'm going to really concentrate on adding in Paul McKenna's techniques and if it is a tiny loss (or none at all) then I'll just grit my teeth and keep going.
Can you share some of the techniques pls:D0 -
Jammy gal - I'm trying to follow his 4 rules:
Eat what I want (I'm not doing this fully as I'm on SW, but I'm fully embracing EE!)
Eat when I'm hungry
Eat consciously (I now realise I gobble food down and don't even think about if I'm full)
Stop when i'm full.
3+4 are my main focus to be honest and I'm eating much smaller portions, particularly at dinner time.
I already knew about the cravings one (picture something really vile you hate on your craved food) and am trying the acupunture tapping if I'm feeling bored or stressed."Stay Wonky":D

Sorry to be a nuisance (yet again!).
Are there any free cup-a-soup sort of soups? I love the Tesco potato and leek one but must be so thick as cannot see it anywhere. I am not buying them if they aren't free or, at least, low in syns.
Now off to Mucky Ducks for a big mac if they are only a couple of syns :j :j :j
only joking - honest. Thought the calculations were brilliant :T :T :T"Every day when I wake up I thank the Lord I'm Welsh" Cerys Matthews0 -
Cor a McDonald's would go down nicely right now! I am really realllly struggling to keep it on the straight and narrow today. Had an exam in the gym where they have scales, went up to have a mini weigh in to try and convince myself I'm doing too well to stop now and they'd locked it argh.
80/20 rule anyone?0 -

Everyone here suggests the noodle mugshots - free I believe
The only free pasta one you can have is tomato:D0 -
Jammygal's right - there are no syn-free cup-a-soups (the lowest are 2.5syn IIRC, but mugshots are FAB! Just pasta in a cup!
Judders I think this is what you're looking for =
Lo-bush what a FAB achievement. If I remember I will try the same (haven't even got a wedding dress yet - or even an engagement ring )
Had a carp morning at work, the middle went quick then I sat in a meeting for the afternoon contributing nothing (I was supposed to be minuting, but I just stole the flipchart at the end!) and was freezing cold. Feel like eating and eating and eating, but trying not to as I know I'll regret itLooks like I've already put on a cuple of pounds since Monday! Would plan lots of walking training for the weekend, but I have a sore foot
Going to dancing tonight though so I'll see how I get on!
Hi to newbies

PS Angie - I had two molars out under general last Feb (two days before my birthday!) - op at 9.30 - home by 1pm, had a mugshot an hour later, then pasta for dinner but not a scrap of pain, ache or anything else bad. I then went for a cavery on my birthday! I still can't believe it really! Don't worry about it - honestly its easier and a LOT less painful than falling off a swing!0 -

just got back from wi and have lost 1.5lbs which is ok.
been thinking about angies post and beginning to wonder how many people find the sw plan a bit of a struggle.when i first started 3 months ago my consultant gave the inpression that sticking to the plan exercise 3-4 time a week and you will lose1-2lbs per week, but i have found in my group it is surprising how many people find that it is not the case.i'm not saying it doesn't work but we all lose at differant rates and it seems more common then sw like to admit.
has anyone else found in there group that there are a few of us that just lose weight slowly
Your Consultant was wrong to tell you that if you stick to the plan and exercise you will lose a specific amount of weight each week.
For a start, no-one can ever say how much weight any particular person will lose as everyone is so different - different metabolism, different amounts to lose, different lifestyles etc.
Secondly, although exercise is good for you and we do encourage people to do it if possible, it's not actually necessary to exercise in order to lose weight.
The only thing that Slimming World guarantee is that if you follow the plan 100%, you will lose weight!
The figure of 1-2lbs a week is the healthiest weight loss - regularly losing more than that can mean that you're losing lean muscle tissue.I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
Just off to weigh in - this will be my first full week on EE and am HOPING that I lose something. I have stuck to it 100% and done loads of brisk walking. I can't really do any more can I? Please have your fingers crossed for me.0
