Natwest / Icesave ISA

Well, I went against all your advice and continued with opening my ISA with Natwest and believe it or not , everything has gone smoothly. I opened the account online and then went into the branch with cheque and Cash ISA. Natwest guy was very helpful and said he wanted to ensure he did everything right and had special instruction what to do with Icesave investers. Money went into my account about a week later and is now sitting in my Natwest account.
So maybe they have had complaints and improved their systems or maybe I have just been lucky!0 -
I reckon you've been really lucky Jo!!!!What goes around comes around.....I hope!0

Just been into my local branch to give them my ISA certificate again, as apparantly their ISA team have not received it with my transfer paperwork sent mid December. It has taken me several chasing phone calls to discover this, and despite the fact I have a receipted copy to show they did receive it in branch, they have at no point apologised or taken responsibility for this. Appalling service.0

I have just check the monthly interest on my Natwest cash isa and I noticed the wrong interest rate has been applied in January. I should be getting about 4.3% but the figure looks more like 2.3% (minus the 2% bonus I had previously been told I was getting).
I called Natwest and no one can confirm what rate I am actually getting and was told someone would get back to me later in the week.
I wonder, has anyone else been paid the wrong rate in January, or is it just me?0 -
Someone called me back today and said that my interest rate is about 1.9%, which is funny as a previous rep had confirmed after my last complaint that it was 4.3%. The person on the end of the phone found the details of the previous rep and called her to ask her to discuss it with me, putting me on hold. Eventually he came back on the line and said that she refused to speak to me as "it was regarding a different issue".
What a load of idiots NatWest are. None of them have a clue what they are doing. I now have to register yet another complaint with them. Why does no one ever take ownership of a case anymore.
Once again, have any other ex Icesave isa customers had this issue, or is it just me?0 -
I applied for my ISA on 16 Dec and it took over a month for the money to go in in dribs and drabs, although I did 3 daily transfers one took a week longer than the other two and all my money was finally in my account by 25th Jan. I was given £17 interest for Jan, whcih most definitely doesn't cover the interest since Dec. What's annoying is there is no contact information on the online banking website, so I will go back to the department that sent me a letter when I was trying to set the damn thing up, it's so frustrating!!!
Are you going through a branch Zoebel or phoning them direct? What goes around comes around.....I hope!0 -
I am phoning them direct. An update to this is I am getting the correct rate (including 2% bonus) but the previous rep told me that I was getting interest from 23/12/08 to 01/01/09 and interest for the whole of January, whereas I was only getting it from 02/01/09 to 09/01/09 and then from 15/01/09, so they messed up.
The interest that i have just received is at the correct rate but only for the preriod 15/1/09 to 31/01/09, not the full month. So the end result was I was a few days out of pocket, but now a very nice chap in Liverpool agreed to credit me £20 instantly so, hopefully, there will be no more problems.0 -
update from the bank with every excuse going. the intrest had to be taken out as it couldnt be transfered across as it would just be bounced back due to the fact i have put 3600 into the account already this tax year.. next excuse is that the intrest will be added onto the account at the end of feb as they have just missed the cut off date for this months intrest. so in feb i should get a nice big sum according to the bank manager. whoppie do. it doesnt matter that the amount (only£90 i know) should be sat in my ISA now gainging intrest instead it wont be in my account for another month. so now i can wait till the end of feb and see if they !!!! it up again!
have received my intrest for january onto my account and the amount is £136 seems abit to much so im wondering if they have added on the £86 they owe me already. although if i take the 86 off the 136 amount it seems less then i would think i should be getting. i had around £21500 in the account but 17k of that wasnt transfered until around the 7th jan. i guess i will wait and see what i get at the end of feb and no doubt have to ring them up again0 -

What number are you phoning them on? I've got a number from a letter they sent me when they said I had insufficient funds in my account to transfer my ISA, which I have been using and they've got there eventually, but not sure if they'll be able to help out with interest queries. Looks like it will have to qait til Monday now anyway, doubt anyone will want to help a stroppy customer on the phone at this time on a friday!!!!:cool:What goes around comes around.....I hope!0
