well - who said housework was pointless - me probably - just found a boots gift card that has been under my bed seemingly since summer- i think there's about £17 on it so I'm off to treat myself after shoving the rest of what was under the bed back
I'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 20080 -
Happy birthday Purple Ivy
Dear heart is having a sleep after falling asleep watching ceebeebies with little bear. I hope little bear will have a sleep as he didn't manage much of a nap this morning and I have just wrestled some calpol in him as he is starting with a temperature.
Well, I have done one hour's ironing so far. I will be playing computer games until the Shopping from Mr S comes and then, sigh, I shall continue with the ironing.
I have no idea what is for tea tonight, but if I don't use up the squash I bought randomly then it will go off so I suspect it will be roasted squash with sausages and frozen peas.
Hugs to all - especially Candygirl as it is such a tough time of year to miss loved ones.Ankh Morpork Sunshine Sanctuary for Sick Dragons - don't let my flame go out!0 -

Kids are off to Hubbys works Christmas Party at 5pm.Its usually a good do and this year is no exception with a party at the local themed party place. Its usually £7 a head for a party here so not bad for nowt:rotfl: .Apart from a seriously dodgy looking santa (one of the other bus drivers:D )handing out the prezzies the kids have a great time
bethebee-Acrab in the bath!!!!!!My kids would have screamed the place down or adopted it as a pet:D As for killing it forget it I've seen it done and think its horrid but I do love crab though:o I'm just a wimp

Happy Birthday Purple Ivy:)
We have been busy looking after our son after his op and preparing for Christmas but have felt really tired for a week/mild cold.
Does anyone know how to revive my flagging energy to get the last minute bits and bobs done and be fresh on the day?An average day in my life:hello: :mad: :coffee::coffee::coffee::T:rotfl: :rotfl:

Afternoon all,
Happy Birthday PurpleIvy - hope you've had a lovely day
CCstar, no idea - other than having to wait for it to develop or go away... I did find the Beechams flu capsules pretty effective though! And treat yourself to a good long wallow in the bath with something gorgeous smelling too.
nipped into town this morning, then middle DD & me have just wrapped all the family's presents. So only got my 3 DD's presents to wrap tomorrow/ Wednesday now which means I won't be up till the early hours of Xmas Day trying to do it for a change...Live your life until love is found, or love's gonna get you down" (credit to Mika!)0 -
Oooooooooooh! Happy birthday to purpleivy!!!
Saw my mum yesterday and she's a little apprehensive about her op tomorrow. Fingers crossed she'll be out in time to boss us around on Christmas Day.....
There are wrapped Christmas presents all over the floor in the sitting room here. I'm hoping that somehow they'll all gather themselves up into a pile without me lifting a finger. Sadly, I don't think they will do. My parents always get (in addition to a little something else) a smoked salmon gift box, which arrived the other day. My mum phoned to say thank you and also to say that she'd hidden it all in the freezer, as whilst she's in hospital my dad won't think to look in there for food. :rotfl:
DH and I had soup for lunch today before hot footing it down to the little cafe for a coffee/hot choc and a slice of cake for pudding. Not very OS, but hey, it's Christmas.......Supper tonight will be a tuna pasta thing. The storecupboard is my friend at the moment...
MIL gave us a Christmas cake last night. It's now hiding in a tin, ready to be taken with us up to the Lakes, where we'll be spending New Year. That is, if DH doesn't attack it beforehand!
Anyway, I'd better go. Take care all. :wave:Sealed Pot Challenge #021 #8 975.71 #9 £881.44 #10 £961.13 #11 £782.13 #12 £741.83 #13 £2135.22 #14 £895.53 #15 £1240.40 #16 £1805.87 #17 £1820.01 declared0 -

Hi again
:bdaycake: Purpleivy
I agree SD, no good fix for the energy levels, I am OK, it is just soreness with the constant coughing not in the lung area, mine was phlegm (TMI) that would not move! on the cords. We like Beechams Cold & Flu liquid or sudafed if bunged up but tbh I think they are all much of a muchness, and it takes 7 days with medication, and a week without. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Though I did boost myself yesterday with cod liver oil, vitamin tablets, and odourless garlic, and I have a little more energy today. This strain is taking some shifting for everyone, I have just had a call from some friends who we said we would get together and see when we came home, once they were over it, and 3 weeks later they are still barking:eek: (no I don't mean my friends are mad. We have had lunch and both fell asleep even though not a large one and no pudding yet, DH is looking like he starting now, but of course this will be far worse than mine
On the OS front, I've cooked dinner from scatch, though had some mash left from yesterday.
